Sailormilan2
I've been working on a switch caliber gun, based on a Springfield Armory Inc 1911 Mil Spec 45 acp, using a Rock Island Armory slide, with unknown brand 9mm barrel purchased from Numrich(though I think I know who made the barrel). I previously had a RIA barrel installed, but I wasn't happy with the results. First range tests had it shooting a bit low at 15 yds, so I installed an LPA SPR series adjustable rear sight on it. Which raised the point of impact at 15 yds from about 1" low, to about 7" high. Fortunately, I have a new MGW208 front sight, which will get installed in a couple of days, which should lower the POI. First group, 124 gr Armscor FMJ reloads, over AA#5. 9 shots, 6 o clock hold under the bull, Second group, fired on top of the first group. 121 gr cast Lyman TC, over Unique. 8 shots(there was one FTFeed), same hold. Total of 17 shots fired between the two loads, Most of the testing has just been for functioning. But, it looks like it's a keeper.
Sailormilan2
2nd trip to the range after doing some work to fix the problem with shooting high. I installed a new, taller front sight, and then installed an adjustable rear sight. Here is the target. 12 shots, 15 yds. Now, to focus on the 45s.
