ken98k
Does anyone know the thread size / pitch of mauser guard screws? I remember it was discussed here a couple years ago but a search didn't bring it up. I believe it is 1/4X22 whitworth but I can't find a tap that size. Dr.Hess
That sounds about right to me. I seem to recall it was 1/4" and TP right inbetween national course and national fine. Besides Brownell's, et. al., I'm sure you could get a tap from a real machine tool supply place.
Clemson
1/4-22. Get the tap from Brownells. Clemson
Vladymere
Be carfull with your tap though, they are pricey. I dropped mine on the concrete floor of my garage and the shank broke off the tap. I've been meaning to order another one. Midway doesn't carry them and I have not seen them listed at McMaster-Carr, Enco, MSC or Wholesale Tool. The tap from Brownells will be just fine Ken. Just be carefull not to drop it or you will be in the same boat I am, in need of another tap.
