AzRednek
About a 300-350 yard shot. G&F told him it was one of the largest they had seen in a few years. The Game Warden estimated its age at least 10 years. Can't see it in the picture but he told me the Ram's face had plenty of battle scars and one of the horns had been broken and healed with a good amount of scar tissue. It will be about 18 months before I see the trophy. Unless he got a new rifle he got it with a 30/06. Health permitting I will be Javalina hunting with him and several other family members in February south of Tucson. Hopefully we avoid any Mexican drug or human smugglers. FC
That is really neat! I guess he won the ram lottery to be able to go hunt?
AzRednek
He has been applying for nearly 20 years and finally got drawn. Got it on his first day about two hours after leaving his camp. I tried for a Bighorn Sheep Ram and Bison tag for about 10 years and finally threw in the towel. One really has to be in really good physical shape as the Bighorn Sheep gather on mountain tops and only move 2 or 3 times during daylight.
