The Democrats hare having a field day with passing gun control bills in the General Assembly. It started on the 28th of February and seems like every Wednesday  we get another major push for gun control. Bills passed out of the Senate may even allow cities to ban ANY long gun. There is even an attempt to roll back conceal carry. The Governor VETOED one bill this week; A State Dealer Licensing bill. The bill was designed to put ALL small FFL holders out of business. The mandates of the bill would have been almost impossible to have followed.  Problem is there is NO big push from gun groups to stop these bills. A lot of Illinois gun owners are still unaware of what is occurring. 

In the state of Illinois every anti-gun bill the democrats have ever wanted passed out of committee today the 27th. The Illinois speaker is calling for Wednesday the 28th to be gun bill day. The Democrats believe they can pass it ALL. There is an emergency call for Witness slips to stop the bills from coming to the floor and it was a giant waste of time. We are being told in Illinois that within 90 days of these bills being passed we gun owners will become Felons.

The Yugo should be able to handle 308. A lot of Yugo rifles were turned into 308 rifles.  

I have a questions are these rifles in their original stocks? If they are by the time you find stocks, barrels, chamber reamers and head space gauges you could buy several hundred rounds of box style brass in 8MM, reload it yourself. The days of cheap rifles like mauser's seems to be over and a lot of these rifles have been sporterized. So a rifle in its original stock even if numbers arent matching will have a value someday. 

Plus sometimes when you replace barrels you can damage a receiver

To me you made out like a bandit. That Mini will make a nice SHTF rifle. I once had a chance to buy a mini but it was at a farm auction and the thing sold for new price. I have seen mini mags online in the $20 range.

This a very emotional topic. I does appear that Moore dated young women in their late teens. While today this doesn't seem right, in the South such things were very common. At one time it was common place in the South for men 30-40 years of age to date and marry 14-16 year old girls. Freaky today but common at one time.

I am assuming when you say your rifle uses 7.62 x 54R you mean the gun uses the Rusiian cartridge. I am concerned about the case rupture.

Was it old ammo possible damaged ammo. bad brass?

If the rifle was mine i would check to see if a standard 98 LR extractor would fit the bolt. If it does fit, please remember the extractor will have to be modified for the Russian ammo
