    Omg!

I take it the marine corp isnt my father's marine corp! Looks like the country isnt the only thing getting screwed these days Weve got to cut back on the soy
  2. Islam is NOT COMPATABLE with the values of our Constitutional Republican Form of Government
  3. simple answer is yes. the over-all dia for the 88 is .986 at 12 threads per inch the threaded area is .729 long with a step down area measuring .875 If you have this done make sure the person doing it understands how to cut a thread for a gun. I prefer a tight fit. the way i would do it is to leave the over-all dia around 5-10 thousands larger than the shank and then cut the threads.
  4. Can't wait to see the stock. I've read where a lot of people leave the tangs off.
  5. This is just a suggestion but why not buy a mill/drill instead of a drill press. That way you could make your own action wrench and barrel vise. That will also allow you to make parts and do other projects If you can run a dril press you can run a mill/Drill
  6. SHot gun news has recently published a new book of its gunsmithing projects. i got mine from amazon for i think $13. It has in it a section where a mosin Nagant is sporterized which includes the cutting of the mag to make it flush. Cotfield was the smith, the article shows how he cut the mag to be flush with the stock and how he got around the follower/spring problem. He cut the mag along a scribe line of the lower stock thus cutting the trigger guard in two pieces. He used a shotgun trigger guard to replac it. The way he did it allowed him to use the original pin at the front of the mag, spring and follower but he did slightly gring the follower to fit. I will try to study this more if it would help although having the books would be better since it has pictures
  7. Ron Paul does not support abortion. I have heard him say several times that we can stop abortion now at the State level and that the constitution does not give the federal government the power to regulate abortion for such powers were retained by the STATES under article 10 of the Bill of Rights. A lot of the so called christian leaders are using the abortion issue as a cash cow. They set a goal of a constitutional amendment against abortion knowing its not going to happen for a good 30 years. When Rona Paul says we can stop abortion now at the State level the so-called leaders of Christian- dumb say Ron Paul is pro-abortion. In my opinion it appears a scam is being played on the good people of Christendom much like Jack Abramhoff scam against the Indian tribes. Ron Paul is a Christian man, he believes in PEACE. He seems to follow the biblical saying blessed are the Peace makers The problem is most people listen to others say about Ron Paul and don’t actually listen to Paul himself. Ron Paul will always seek peace first but if the US of A is attacked he will go to congress ask for a declaration of war and then proceed to destroy our attackers. I was listening about a month ago to a Colonel Shaffer he said that he is convinced NOW that Ron Paul is far more Hawkish than he’s given credit for. The people around Paul believe that Ron Paul would literally destroy any nation that attacked the US of A if he were president. During one of the South Carolina debates Ron Paul said that he would close some of the military bases around the world and if it was up to him he would have more bases at home. I support Paul not because he is a perfect candidate. In fact I would like a candidate to be far more aggressive against illegal immigration and far more vocal against abortion. I support Ron Paul because he is a threat to the status quo! We have revolving door in this country between Goldman Sachs and the treasury that is looting this country dry. Ron Paul is also the only candidate with a history of wanting to REPEAL GUN CONTROL. Ron Paul has president would in my opinion restore some personal liberty back to this country. By being in the race he is educating people to the constitution and bill of rights. He’s not perfect but until a better candidate come along I will support Ron Paul. P.S. I have a question… Regan considered Ron Paul one of his favorite GOP congressmen. Ron Paul hasn’t changed in 40 years so why are the conservative republicans supporting Romney? He is pro-abortion, pro-gun control, Pro-carbon tax, when he was governor of Massachusetts he appointed more liberal democrats as judges that republican by a margin of 2.5-1. His Health care program is considered to be the blue print for Obama care; so why are conservatives voting for this guy compared to a guy like Paul, while not perfect he would at least up hold personal liberty and support the constitution?
  8. The media is not reporting it but I heard the Newt came out in favor of Obama care over the weekend. The same 2 guys talking about newt and Obama care claimed that the governor NJ should be asked to run for president on the GOP ticket. I then read an article this morning about a $1000 bounty for guns in NJ! I also read an article that Romney has the same problem as Obama; he’s not eligible to run for the WH. Seems that old Mitt (Willard) while born in the USA is the son of a Mexican that wasn’t legal at the time. Personally i think were screwed.
  9. I am glad the girl doesnt live in Illinois, land of the FOID card. She would be in jail awaiting a hearing.
  10. Ok I think we have identified the problem. A lot of people are claiming that Ron Paul is racist, bigot, conspiracy theorist and weak on foreign policy but those claims are based on what other people are saying about Ron Paul and NOT what Ron Paul is actually saying or his congressional voting record. Ron Paul says that there is NO evidence suggesting 9-11 was an inside job or that the official story is not true. Ron Paul supported/voted for the war in Afghanistan. The only unconstitutional vote that Ron Paul ever voted for was to create a National Holiday for Martin Luther King. Has a medical doctor Ron Paul has a record of donating his time to hospitals in poor neighborhoods that care for minorities. Ron Paul is very big on personal liberty and responsibility; the Elite of both parties hate his guts because he is a threat to their power base. Is Ron Paul perfect; Hell NO but neither is anyone else in my opinion. Personally I would like to see the borders closed down. I also want our jobs to be returned, which means dump NAFT and GAT! I don’t know if Ron Paul could achieve that, I do know NO other candidate will even try. In the final analysis Ron Paul as President would represent only one branch of government, congress defines the budget and declares wars. As president Ron Paul would serve his constitutional role as the administrator to the states. Given the choice between Ron Paul and Obama, I take Paul. Given the choice between Ron Paul and the rest of the current GOP field I still take Paul. One final note Obama had absolutely NO foreign Policy experience, never ran a business, had very little to NO accomplishments has a member of the Illinois general assembly, never served in America’s armed forces. In fact we don’t really know a whole lot about the man… But he’s now considered one of the greatest men of our time! Ron Paul severed 6 years in the Air Force during Vietnam, ran several businesses, has a strong pro-constitutional voting record, has a documented history of helping the poor needy and indigent and he’s considered to be crazy. Can someone explain this to me?
  11. Ron Paul is far more Hawkish than any one wants to admit. He gave a speech in Texas back in either late 2007 or 2008 in front of about 5000 at a Tea Party event in which he called for a strong US military and a view that he would not tolerate an attack on US interest. Just because Paul doesn’t go around looking for a fight doesn’t mean he won’t go toe to toe with an opponent. Has far as Iran is concerned the atomic fuel they have can not be refined into weapons grade, because they didn’t remove the fluorides at the beginning of the refinement process. This information was published in a magazine for the US nuclear power industry about 1-2 years ago the original link was at whatreallyhappened .com Now that doesn’t mean Iran wouldn’t like to have a bomb but their still years away unless someone gives them one. I think we can agree that if Iran ever used a bomb it would be the last bomb they would ever use before they became a cinder block. Ron Paul wouldn’t put up with that crap either, he said so in the above mentioned speech. Has far as isolationism goes our first president warned us to stay out of foreign conflicts and Ron Paul shares the same view as the first commander and chief. Plus we need to understand the Muslim world they are always shooting their mouths off for internal consumption. Iran is ran by hardliners that have to talk tough now and then to make themselves feel important. My personal opinion is that if Iran or anyone posed a real threat to the USA and Ron Paul was president he’d burn their country down around them. These quite guys that seem slow to react sometimes are the meanest fighters and Ron Paul makes me think he is that kind of man. My son and I had this very conversation over Christmas FC and we came to this opinion based on Ron Paul’s history. Remember all of the GOP that stands around pounding their chest never served in the US military but Ron Paul did. I believe he was an air force officer, I think captain for 6 years during Vietnam. In my opinion a man that served in the Air Force for 6 years maybe quite but he’s NO sissy!
  12. Referring the matter to congress is the proper course of action! Ron Paul believes in the constitution and he believes his oath is taken before God; his actions will be tempered with reason. If there is a real threat to this nation Ron Paul will refer the matter to congress to decide on a declaration of war. If Iran were to shut down the strait without a legitimate provocation the worlds reaction would be devastating to Iran. They would lose ALL credibility within a matter of days. A true statesman wouldn’t even have to fire a shot to bring down Iran’s government. Iran is dependant on other nations for their food, fuel and medicines. Shutting down the strait actually hurts them more than it hurts the US. Iran would collapse within days from within! Right now Iran is a first tier satellite state of Russia and in some respects China Ron Paul is only saying what a real STATESMAN would do if he were president!
  13. Karl I have heard similar stories and its my understanding they are true! I have also heard that regular doctors are asking the same type of questions and if you answer yes to any of them you lose your gun rights. In Illinois if you go to the hospital for any reason and some one asks you how you are doing, its possible that its an informal visit with the resident psychologist. Under a new Illinois passed just a couple of years ago any health care provider can take away your gun rights. Since hospitals dont want the liability they are having their resident psychologist do little knock and talk visits with patients if they get any so called wrong answers they inform the police, you lose your guns and your FOID card. Its happened several times and the ISRA had to issue an alert on the subject. When the original bill was introduced it was headed no where until rhino republican Kirk Dillard sponsored it in the Illinois Senate. Sad part is the NRA later endorsed this rhino for Illinois governor. Oh, Kirk Dillard republican rhino also endorsed his good friend Barrack Obama for president back in 2008 and the NRA in Illinois still claims this guy is pro-gun and deserves our support!
  14. please keep the pictures coming i love to see this type of work
  15. This is no longer the country that I was born into. I remember when we could buy guns through the mail without a background check or 4473 form. All we had to do was put some money in an envelope and wait until the gun was delivered. Oh crime was low and most people didn’t even lock their doors
  16. If you have access to a lathe and a mill you can make your own barrel vise and action wrench; it’s not that hard to do. I used a piece of 1-1/4 square 1018 bar stock for both my wrench and vise. A piece of 1-1/2 rd aluminum can become your barrel bushings. Some people use 1-1/2 for a barrel vise and one poster has graciously shown us his wrench and vise in a slightly different style. (very nice by the way)
  17. Re-chamber to another caliber or rethread and re-chamber. If it is really bad how about 300 win mag Or... Sell the barrel to someone on the board and start over
  18. Clemson I think you did the right thing. I don’t think the chamber job would make the gun unsafe but it would shoot like crap. With human nature the way that it is the word would go out that you screwed the gun up. No business needs bad publicity especially gun dealers/smiths. I have heard of 7.7 rifles re-barreled to 30-06 and do real well. The 17 threads/inch however is a real pain unless you have a lathe that can cut metric threads. Old USA lathes like south bend can not cut those threads without special gears. I was at a local dealer one time when a couple of lesser gun owners came in wanting ammo for their 7.7 Jap rifle they picked up at a local estate sale. The gun was re-chambered for another cartridge other than 7.7 but the guy that done the work never marked the barrel The new owners drove 130 miles round trip to buy some 7.7 that wouldn’t fit the chamber. So… They went to Wal-Mart and the gun guy told them that 308 was the “NEXT SIZE” smaller ammo. So they bought 308 and tried it. Too small but that didn’t stop them from trying to shoot it. Next they tried some 30-06, but the bolt wouldn’t close on it. Eventually they got around to buying some 7.62x54 Russian. The last I heard the gun was re-chambered to 7.62x54. I think they paid $75 for the gun and spent about $200 on different types of ammo and gas before they found the right size ammo. Oh the guys did not bring the gun with them to the dealer they just wanted to know what the next size of ammo was. It seemed that no matter what they guys were told they couldn’t understand, they just wanted to shoot their new gun.
  19. Looks nice to me. let us see a picture of it when your finished. Nice job!
  20. This crap is also happening in Peoria and Chicago Illinois. In Peoria Illinois on the 4th of July the teens (that's what I will call them for now) fired bottle rockets and roman candles at police. In Chicago they call them wildlings and refer to there actions as flash mobs. In my opinion they are the creation of political correctness and liberalism!!!!
  21. I found this article by David Codrea and I am very concerned http://www.examiner.com/gun-rights-in-national/operation-castaway-seller-denies-shipping-guns-to-honduras Has the ATF created a new regulation or standard in the court? According to Crumpler his mistake was making money on his gun collection. I have never read that a gun owner couldn’t sell a firearm and make a profit. Now I realize Crumpler may have been buying and selling large numbers of guns for the purpose of making a profit which under current law (which I don’t agree with) is a violation. Here’s my problem with the ATF prosecution of Crumpler if they in fact charged him with being an illegal dealer because he may have made a profit. Guns purchased in 2005 have doubled in price; guns bought back in 2000 have tripled in value today, so how do you define profit? The ATF now claims drilling and tapping for scope mounts, re-finishing or heat treating or changing out parts is considered manufacturing. I know most of you are aware of David Olofson and the slam fire machine gun nonsense and the new 2 gun reporting requirements for South West gun dealers. I guess my point is this; if the ATF has argued that a gun owner is a dealer if they made a profit on the sale a gun then we need a bill introduced to stop this tyranny, Plus the other nonsense. I personally see this has a dangerous threat. What’s next a guy sells an oz of gold and makes a buck is an illegal gold dealer? I know there is an argument based on the number of guns sold but what about collectors wanting to sell their collections. Gold, silver and guns are the few items that seem to be inflation proof. Are the people that have purchased firearms as an investment now in danger of being imprisoned because they want to cash in on their investment? What do you think?
  22. I once was told that online social networks like Face Book were actually intelligence gathering operations ran by various intelligence bodies primarily the CIA. I don’t have a face book account and never will
  23. Saliormilan2; I feel your pain when it comes to dealing with counter people with IQ’s below room temperature. SO… I took to rebuilding a lot of my own stuff, mostly MT 30&35 starters and 10&12SI GM alternators, mostly one wire set-ups. I keep parts around to rebuild my own stuff. Most starter drives are either Bendix type or sprag type. Most GM Solenoids are either short, long, two or three bolt versions. I get my parts straight from a company that sells to the rebuilders. Shipping is fast and the price is the same as the rebuilders. The company’s name is National Automotive Lines Inc. Their website is www.natauto.com Their phone number is 1-800-428-4300 I would like to urge you and everyone to call for a catalog. However their catalog only contains a fraction of what they sell. If you need parts for something not listed in their catalog call them. If the person answering the phone is unable to help ask for Morris, he’s the owner. He knows more about rebuilding parts for alternators and starters than anyone I know. Now this is actually a big outfit and not just an auto parts store they sell nation wide plus globally so Morris who’s in his late 70’s can’t always come to the phone right away but if a problem cant be handled by his people he can take care of you. (Normally his people can handle 99% of any question you have) To give you an idea of the price on some of the parts brush sets for GM alternators are from $0.91- $2.40 I buy a rebuilt starter solenoid for my tractors that sells at the local NAPA dealer for $54 for $16.95 from National Automotive and the kicker is they’re quality parts. They have to be because it’s the same parts the rebuilders use. Hope this helps.
  24. With all due respect FC, I don’t think the Newton County Sheriff is going to loose in court over this issue. The Indiana Supreme court has ruled that police can come into your home without a warrant for any reason or NO reason at all and YOU CAN NOT STOP THEM OR ATTEMPT TO BLOCK THEIR ENTRY!!!!!! AND… If you do attempt to block them they can charge you with obstruction and assault of an officer The same week the US Supreme Court ruled the police can come into your home without a warrant if they hear a sound they don’t like. The forth amendment to the constitution is all but nullified especially in Indiana http://www.infowars.com/indiana-sheriff-house-to-house-random-searches-now-possible
