Locally we still can not get ammo except for some 12&20 gauge bird shot. NO primers or powder either. I just heard of people paying $800/1000rds for 223 and 7.62x39

I too have wondered why the barn door for imported ammo isnt wide open. You would think Russian ammo would be pouring into the country. I went to Aim yesterday and they didnt have any ammo to sale. Reloading components are also gone at other sources like midway usa. They claim ammo is being sold somewhere but I dont know here that somewhere is. Locally Wal-Mart has Bid shot for 12 & 20 gauge but thats it.

At least you guys got ammo. I have almost nothing. I havent reloaded in years. I thought about buying some brass the other day and I was shocked at the "0" supply. Hell even the $1.00/brass case stuff is gone. Even some things like chamber reamers are being bought up. It looks like componets are all being converted to ammo production. It looks like it would be easier to find hens teeth than primers in my area!

I agree! I have made phone calls to my Illinois Reps and will contact my congressional reps next week. In Illinois we are in a fight for our 2A lives. They want us to give up our personal firearms for the right to go to a range and rent a gun to shoot!

It is my understanding that it can be determined what type of caliber was used in a shooting. Originally the police said the AR15 was found in the car. Later that got changed to it (AR15) was used in the murders of the children. Originally it was reported the shooter had 2 hand guns used in the murder of the children and himself. Then that got changed to the shooter hand 4 hand guns but only used 2. Personally I don’t know what was used in the murders. We have allowed our teachers to become relegated to Human Shields in gun free zones and the people that created those gun free zones want the rest of us to become victims as well.

Unbelievable isn’t it, the people that murdered over 50 million of their own people after disarming them wants us to disarm. The Nazi’s supported disarmament laws ALL over Europe before WWII. The purpose was to disarm the civil population so no one could defend themselves against Nazi aggression. The way this thing is playing out gun owners are damned if we don’t and damned if we don’t. We have to stop ANY and ALL gun control laws and pray the republicans and the NRA don’t cave in. We also have to hold the House in 2014 or we are screwed!

Rural America is also changing; small farms are all most completely gone. The number of young people with the knowledge and ability let alone desire to farm is a very small number hovering just above zero. The cost of farming as gone through the roof in the last 5 years with input costs tripling. I know this from personal experience because I still farm the land I own and input cost plus the cost of parts and machinery have skyrocketed. I was talking to a parts man for a large equipment dealer just the other day and he was telling me how we/companies have sent so much of our parts production out of the country that it’s starting to hurt dealers because of supply shortages. It seems like the companies that took over US parts production are deliberately dragging their feet in manufacturing parts in an attempt to raise prices. Plus I know a man that owns one a the largest privately owned parts companies in the USA and he tells that a lot of the over-sea suppliers are going broke and shutting down causing parts shortages and higher prices. The truth is our food supply is very fragile and people don't even know it and sadly dont care!

I agree with everyone else it must go through an FFL. Personally I would cancel the transaction like you suggested.
