  1. Thanks for the info. The saftey does work by pushing forward it just took some lube to get it freed up. This is the 6.5 version and in my collection of odd ball things I found 3 charging clips and 5 rds of ammo. The stock has a bad age crack so I don't know how soon I'll get to fixing it. Will probably just hang it on the wall with my other missfit toys.

  2. Need info on Carcano rifles other than Kennedy Killers. I just received a Carcano carbine with no import marks and all matching numbers. This is what those guys from the picker show call farm fresh. This rifle has not had a great deal of care for many years but is still in pretty good shape. How does the saftey work on this rifle? I can't get it to move! It will fire in present position. Is there a site for Carcano's?

  3. WWI traveling exhibit was here in Topeka for one day this week. It is part of the WWI museum in Kansas City. If the exhibit comes to your town I would recommend you see it. Took my grandsons and really had a good time. The exhibit has great displays and artifacts. The neatest thing for me was a 1894 Colt machinegun. Tripod mounted and updated in 1914.Didn't know colt made a machinegun in 1894. After the exhibit we went to the Kansas National Guard museum. Talk about some nice shooting irons! They had them on display from black powder pistol's to a captured Russian tank and everyting in between. And it was all free so you can't beat the price.

  4. Thanks for the replies. Here in Ks we have no problem with private sells. I have heard this comment about turning in the guns found to ATF several times watching these shows. Sounds like someone with the show doesn't like guns.

  5. Problem solved. I had $150.00 invested in this POS. Sold it this wekend at gunshow for a cool $300.00.

Even a blind hog can find an acorn. And the Lord looks out for idiot's. It was more of God's grace than an acorn that I got out of this one.

  6. Thanks for thr advice guy's. I tried some mini-mags and they made the gun cock but it would then jam. I've read some bad reviews on this little escort so this weekend is gunshow and its going to find a new home.

  7. Having lived in Florida several years let me tell you digging in a fireant mound will put you in the hospital. There is a bait you can use that kills the Queen thus destroying the colony all else is a waste of time unless things have changed since I left. Consult an exterminator for latest info on removal. And lots of luck, to get rid of the ones in my yard I just moved north.

  8. I have a S&W 61-3 22lr that will feed, fire, extract, and eject but the slide doesn't travel far enough to the rear to recock the pistol. Any suggestions on what could be the problem? I've tried several different types of ammo and it still does the same thing. I believe the recoil spring is orginal but don't know for sure as I just bought this POS. Any help deeply appreciated.

    Thanks

  9. Karl,

Having lived in Fl. and having been a air-conditioning repairman you are screwing up turning off your ac. Just set the temp and leave it the hell alone and you will save money. Shutting it down until needed just makes it work that much harder to get the heat out of your home. All the heat in the carpet, walls, furniture, and everything else must be removed before cooling starts. Leaving it running lets it just maintain the set temp. When not needed your ac will just shut-down by itself. Maybe the fan will run but this just circulates the air until needed to be conditioned by the ac. Set and forget it is the best policy. Foregive the misspelling this is a new computer and not all systems installed at this time.
