Ok Finally its here and perdy now I need inleting and bedding and some wood finish

You make me sick I am stick out here on the road and my stuff is packed away. I have gunsmith working on the finally touches. Great job on the two rifle. Let me know how the coating holds up on the metal.

Thanks, I use the stadard M98 guard never really had a need for the hinged floor plate, it looks nice but I never really use them so I always go with the standard ones

Ok since i am still waiting for my stock from Richards for my M39 build I finished up 2 mausers

big one is VZ42 cal 308 Bold trigger, match stainless 26"barrel, duracoat finish Merlin Falcon 4-14 scope with MP20 ret, devcon bed, boyd stock, bold trigger, trued reciever and lapped lugs

small one is my little hunter, VZ42 cal 308 Bold trigger, parker n hale target 20" barrel, duracoat finnish, Nimrod Sniper scope with 308 BDC, devcon bed, boyd stock, bold trigger, trued receiver and lapped lugs

safety is not here yet still waiting for the patent top finnish should be soon

that not bad FM. I was looking at Hart barrels lately.

Glad to hear your back in Cali. Your info on the Mauser ATI stocks and Mauser builds are the best. I have been working on a Mosin for some time, but when I saw this thread I desided to clean the dust off my Mosin and start researching the Rock Solid scope mount and [side safety???]. Can't wait to see your results. Keep up the good work.

 

BTW, since your so talented, I was wondering if you where able to see the Custom Mosin in 300 Win Mag that was in a Finnish Sniper Challege as illustrated in Shotgun News recently. I would love to see you replicate that rifle. Here's the link to same Mosin in question...Mosin in 300 Win Mag Thread

here is the extractor cut i was talking about i had to make by hand this is the original barrel but mine looks the same

left arrow is cut for extractor, right arrow shows small step for rim, in between them both is a small tapper for the round to feed

Ok got a real nice Huber trigger from Tennessee Gun Parts http://www.tngunparts.com, in all my years in the military and building rifles never have I installed a trigger so easy, here are so photos of it and I am very impressed with the adjustable ball at the top.

I was experimenting with wood and bondo as I'm getting ready to have a mock-up stock duplicated and there in the corner was this butchered springfield stock------------

Well, after some mauser stock scraps, bondo, and OD paint it's still butchered but it has a pistol grip and monte carlo for use with a scope.

you figure I bought the barrel from LW in germany, and scope from UK through Sniper Central and the stock from Richards but Scope Mount, alan bolts to replace the original, side safety and re-welded bolt handle all from Ken at rock soild

mr. sniper, some mighty fine lookin' firearms ifin' ya ask me. makes me wanna go out an' make something else now. maybe I'll build a 30-30 over and under with a 300win mag on the bottom. what do ya think? Dave
