  1.

No one here is being called anyone names... The Situation is ready made for certain groups in this country to take advantage of. All sides the the spectrum.

I just plan to take care of my "tribe". Vote how I feel and be a witness of what happens in this country.

  2. Remember when a few "enlighten" Congressmen said " Don't buy from IMI (Isreali Mil Industries), because it would upset our Moslem friends" ! And our enemies, I bet.

Now look. They should open the Twin Cities plant again (TW headstamp). Federal ammo had something to do with that location. Lapua in Finland would be happy to make a few bucks I bet.

  3. I'm looking for the Finn who shot a 28/30 I think in pre-WWII Olympic match. (Google)I have seen his name before. They were used well into the 60-70's by the Russians as well. Summer Games I think.

The best I could find is an extensive list of wins on the Lapua.com website. The 53R as the Finns call it was used in both winter and summer games. Who knows when they went to just .22lr in the winter games

These guys could be Olympic material.....

  4. I just got a week ago at a show around here. Never have seen one until now. M38's were going for the same $$$ 150USD. So I picked it up. Going to try mine with 4rds of every type of 54R ammo I have over ther Presidents Day long weekend. Early CIA import with the import mark under the barrel. New LAM stock , blueing okay. Has a new chrome plated bolt that hasn't had much use. Barrel is so-so.

  5. I think your ready for a .340 or 378. They hold some powder. After my 300 experience ,I'm backing down to a .270 Weatherby went I can afford it. Here CO, unless its in sage brush long shots,.the mags can be overkill too.

I did not like my 7mm Mag. My first and only bull elk was with a M77 Ruger International in .308 at 60yds w/ Fed 165gr BTSP. There's alot of trees up here to shoot around. So distance isn't always the problem. Its the trees.

But if one had to have only one, the .300 is it.

  6. I'd decide on your caliber first. With .308/7.62mm NATO, atleast those are a hunt legal caliber.

I have an early CETME, a FMP G3 Clone and an AR15. (Some Cetmes need "tweaked". See Cetme site.)

Have had the FAL and a pre-ban M1A. In all cases you have to get use to them.

    I'd suggest www.cetmerifles.com or FALFiles.com, AR15.com.

Read up. Check GunBroker.com or one one the other auction sites for prices. I'll post more if you want them.

Why did you not pick the AK family? Hunt legal (w/ proper mag) in some states, okay for deer sized game, closer up.

  7. Good Luck ! sad.gif

Really though, because WGA has had to stop selling for the time being and can only sell pre-1898 recv built ones. Your only choice is all the Forum Trader/Seller Boards, all the auction sites and gunshows. That's not even going the pawn shop and gunstore hunt...

Look at WGA click to the M39 page and get a dose of current reality. No one has mentioned where the last 12 thousand went ,from the last import from Finland.

Its not a pretty scene right know. There may be one on Gunbroker.com under Mosin

  8. The same thing happened in Conejos County in Southern COLO. The county seat is Antonito. Home of the famous narrow-gauge railroad used in the last Indiana Jones movie. But the problem was they were up in the forest wood cutting and doing work on his property ph34r.gif . He also kept a Glock 9mm that should have been turned in. A major news outfit in Denver found and then the ----- hit the fan. Not dumb just crooked and dumb.... He's not the Sheriff any more. You know someone in town had enough.
