  1. Yes, the Drill Doctor has a spinning aluminum oxide stone in it. It is mostly a jig to hold everything "just right." It really does a good job on them, and I've sharpened 1/8" up to 3/4" on mine. Very handy. Like I said, the savings is in the time not having to stop the project to get a new drill bit. I got mine at Home Depot. The large chuck for up to 3/4" was included as a mail in coupon. I don't know if they still do that.

After you do a few bits of about the same size how do you do a bigger size with out dressing the stone. Iguess ishould say differnt size. because you are going to leave a grove in the stone.

  2. A few comments from the peanut gallery:

    1. Being laughed at by an Obamma lover is, well, sort of a compliment. They are so friggin clueless that anything that turns them upside down is a good thing. Personally, I would have pointed at them and busted out laughing myself.

    2. I have my concerns about Palin as well. I dunno how much of this whole thing is just another setup. The media did a pretty good job destroying her last election. They can do it again. The people out here in the general population (see comment #1) are so stoopid that they will believe a SNL skit as factual. Think about that.

    3. I was in Alaska regularly though the 80's. It was my observation that in general the people in Alaska (I was in the Kenai and Valdez areas) at that time were really rather lefty. That is, it was real easy to be anti-war in El Salvador and Nicaraqua when you're a quarter of the planet away. Not so much when it's a 3 day drive. It is also easy to be anti-gun or pro-anti-gun politician (for the lower 48) when they know darn well that such laws could never be enacted locally. Regan was thought of about like we think of The O.

Anyway, if the lefties in AK don't like Palin, I'm not saying that's bad. Also, I am not convinced she is all we are being led to believe etiher. And Ken, I'm not calling you a leftie or picking on you at all, I'm just giving my observation of the area when I went through there 25 years ago.

  4. I assume you mean offset the compound 30 degrees from the X axis? That makes perfect sense actually. It forms a 30 60 90 triangle so that advancing the cutter along the compound results in an advance along the Y axis of exactly half the amount. Keeps the mental math simple. Thanks!

I knew you would figure it out.
