There are some guns I think look good with white line recoil pads some look better without I was taught by an older gentleman he liked them on some things I have to draw the line on the red recoilpads though this world sure would be boreing if we all liked the same thing

Redfield one piece for 98 worked for me just have to drill and tap three holes

I was thinking about ordering a stock from GREAT AMERICAN GUNSTOCKS out of ca. I was wanting a sock for a 98 with raised side panels schnabel front crescent rear small cheek piece read some bad reports on other people ordering from them wondering if you all had any dealings with them

I went to pawn shop today Springfield 03A3 Remington with redfield mounts M82 scope with post reticle wood excellant condition

the reciever and barrel parkereized green and mounts and rings bolt black painted looking follower blued stamped trigger guard

scope blued but some of blueing off looks never issued I just wonder if true sniper rifle

I HAVE USED 4 BARRELS ALL HAD GREAT BORES 2 HAD A LITTLE PIITING WHERE SPACERS WERE BUT CLEANED UP SURE MAKES NICE LITTLE RIFLES I GOT MINE FROM NUMRICH GUN PARTS

I TAKE THE RIFLE IS NOT FOR THE RECOIL SENSITIVE

WHY DONT YOU TRY MEDIUM GRIT VALVE LAPPING COMPOUND ON EACH PART AND WORK THEM TOGETHER TILL THEY SCREW COMPLETELY TOGETHER

I caved in and recently ordered a three position safety, and am having trouble threading it onto the bolts I have.  I goes on just fine on a couple thrashed older overpolished and well worn bolts, but the problem occurs on the two nicer ones I had reserved for this project.  On one it binds severly and won't go more than a few threads in.  On the other, it starts binding with a few threads to go, and stops about 20 degress short of all the way on. 

 

I have inspected the threads, both sets, and can see nothing out of the ordinary.  Milsurp shrouds fit fine on both these bolts.  I have lightly beveled the forward edge (at the end of the threads) to more closely match one of the milsurps, and have lightly filed the thread end at the same edge in case it is bottoming out.  It seems to have helped a little, but still won't go on all the way.  I am hesitant to remove too much material.

 

Any thoughts or suggestions?

THAT STOCK LOOKS GREAT EVEN CHEEK PIECE IS ON CORRECT SIDE

You done good Swampy! That really is a good looking stock,especially with the checkpiece on the correct side.If that was my rifle,I'd put pictures of it on the internet too! My next stock will be a Micro-fit.Jerry

I GOT SOME NEW PLATES TO REPLACE THE OLDS ONES ON MY OLD BLAZER AND

THERE WERE TWO PLATES HERE IN SOMERVELL CO.
