  1. It wont let me post pictures, says I dont have permission for the up loads directory I have been able to clean the threads up with a engraver point and screw the barrel on, it actually is pretty solid I want to get the picture up so I can get some feed back on wether it is safe. some areas of thread are about 1mm some are full
  2. I got the stump of barrel ground out of the yugo, threads are unuseable. Rather than a paper weight with the inscription "ask experienced people first A##hole" any thoughts on a low pressure cartridge I could get a barrel in and rethread the action to take.
  3. I am filling out my C&R application and I'm not sure who to put as the chief law enforcement officer, would it be the Philadelphia police commisioner? this is probably a stupid question but I'd rather not slow it down because of something stupid
  4. None taken, I gave up on the vise when I broke my bench on this one . I dont have a lathe but I will try this using a die grinder to take it down. Thanks
  5. I'm a little embarassed posting this one I was trying to rebarrel a 48 and tried everything I could find to get the barrel off nothing worked (relief cuts, heating, ground flats , kroil, wd 40, break free, diesel, long breaker bar, sledge) so I came up with an idea(thats how all my big mistakes usually begin) I would drill 1/8 holes into the barrel lengthwise at the action to relieve the stress, cutting the barrel off and leaving 1" exposed for the barrel vise. who can guess what happened? well I have the stub broken off below the action I have tried to drill more away and it just seems to be getting worse. Any Ideas would help
  6. I guess the ffl is the way to go, thanks. All of locks stuff cost 2x what it does anywhere else. Thanks for the replies
  7. Any one know a good shop in the philadelphia area for mil surps, Mausers around here are either costing as much as commercial rifles or the pickins are getting real bad, surplus city used to have a great selection but I've been waiting on the "next shipment" of turks for a while now
