  1. Jim, I was just curious, what are you going to do with the scope base holes in the ring? If you weld them up then the markings get screwed up, not that a hole doesn't screw them up. I wonder if Mike's engraver guy could restore the markings. Brad
  2. All, Some of you may already be aware of this, but for those who aren't, read it. The boobs are LA and SF. We've had the "new" AZ law for years in California. Subject: California Immigration Law - the plot thickens! My name is Harold R. Beasley, Sr. I am a retired Border Patrol Agent. I live in Sierra Vista, AZ. Telephone number 520-459-8587. I was the Deputy Chief Patrol Agent in San Diego for 5 years (1996 to 2001). I then transferred as an Assistant Chief Patrol Agent to Tucson, Arizona and then retired in 2002. I did a little research and found that California has the same law (Penal Code 834b) on their books and are complaining about Arizona just passing our New Immigration Law. Wow, is this the pot calling the kettle black? Please note the last section 834(©. Looks like Los Angeles and San Francisco Mayors have violated California Law and should be investigated by the Attorney General Jerry Brown of California. Below is the message that I sent to the Mayors of Los Angeles and San Francisco: You are fighting the new Arizona Immigration Law. Well take a good look at your laws over in California. You are telling Arizona that we are racists and will be racial profiling. Read California Penal Code 834b. You are violating your own State Laws by not enforcing Penal Code 834b. You have had the same law for many years and NO ONE has been protesting your law. WHY IS THAT? 834b. (a) Every law enforcement agency in California shall fully cooperate with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service regarding any person who is arrested if he or she is suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws. ( With respect to any such person who is arrested, and suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws, every law enforcement agency shall do the following: (1) Attempt to verify the legal status of such person as a citizen of the United States, an alien lawfully admitted as a permanent resident, an alien lawfully admitted for a temporary period of time or as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of immigration laws. The verification process may include, but shall not be limited to, questioning the person regarding his or her date and place of birth, and entry into the United States, and demanding documentation to indicate his or her legal status. (2) Notify the person of his or her apparent status as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws and inform him or her that, apart from any criminal justice proceedings, he or she must either obtain legal status or leave the United States. (3) Notify the Attorney General of California and the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service of the apparent illegal status and provide any additional information that may be requested by any other public entity. © Any legislative, administrative, or other action by a city, county, or other legally authorized local governmental entity with jurisdictional boundaries, or by a law enforcement agency, to prevent or limit the cooperation required by subdivision (a) is expressly prohibited. To get more info just Bing or Google: California Penal Code 834b What the hell was it we were supposed to boycott? Ourselves? Brad
  3. Larry, I was just revisiting your photos and noticed the scope in the ctg pic. How do you mount your scope? Looks like 90 degrees to the port. Brad
  4. Larry, thanks for the info. I'm going to start with my 45-70 4198 loads and work up and also run the RL7 up as far as it will go. I always liked the 350 bullets best and want to stick with them. It was a bit disheartening to see how long the Barnes 3X bullets were. I may have to go with 300's and I really don't want to. Stupid condors!!! Anyway, it should be getting home soon, but I still have to stock it so may be awhile til I can shoot bullets out of it. I guess this will be a saga. Will keep your info in mind, Larry. Thanks, Brad
  5. Take it easy, Dave, and take the good doctor's advice. Get the Mrs to type your posts here. Brad
  6. Swampy, I just came on this. I'm so sorry for your loss - 42 years! However, reading your words, I find a meaning, and I think I am just learning it from you, as to what a special lifelong relationship means and should mean. Thank you for sharing with us the gift of your wife and the tragedy of the loss. You have touched us all and, interestingly, added meaning to all of our lives. It is up to you to take care of yourself now, please do. Brad
  7. Ken, it's been back at IT&D for a little over a month. Your reamer went back as soon as I got it from you. I told Dave to call me if it didn't look like the right one and didn't hear from him so I guess all is well. A buddy sent an action back to him to become a 350 Rem Mag at the same and has gotten his invoice so it must be moving along in the line. I may call him tomorrow and get an update and let you know. Thanks, Brad
  8. AZ, THROW THEM AWAY!!!!! I'll send you some 06 brass if you need it. Brad
  9. Semi, I know this is old and you might not see it. But if you do, what grades were you ordering? I just ordered an HRA service grade and am hoping not to get a ship wreck. At least you could swap stocks and have a bit of a match. Brad
  10. Mike is 46 today???? That's like over 4 1/2 decades!!!! Happy birthday, buddy. Hope it was a good one. Brad

    Karl

Well, QKarl. Welcome aboard. We're not all jackasses here and a lot of us are fighting to save the place. Actually it's a pretty conservative state but we are dominated by LA and SF. The scoundrels that dominate us mostly came from somewhere else and we hope to run them back to where they came. Pray for us. Brad

    Dakotacliff

James, I meant to mention that. There is plenty of extra wood on the outside. Some work to be had there, but I guess that will let you do a lot of things that you want. Brad
  13. Az, I can wait as long as it takes. I don't need any triggers, I just wanted to buy something Arizona. Let us know when you're ready. Will have the checkbook out. Thanks for what you're doing down there. 70% support!!! Outstanding. Not going to happen here, but send the riffraff to SF where they can be hugged, or bugged. Brad
  14. I'm going to go buy a Timney trigger or three. Brad

    Dakotacliff

Hi all, I just thought I'd mention this. Dakotacliff recently put a lot of stuff up for "Buy It Now" and auction on eBay. I just bought two 98 stocks from him. They were here before I knew it, the prices were very good for wood these days and the quality of the wood was outstanding. Best deal I've had in years. Just thought I'd let you know in case you were looking for good wood. First time I've dealt with him. Brad
  16. Happy birthday, Dale. What are you now, 22? Brad

AZ, you forgot the best part: it gets those bungholes out of here. Sorry, Arizona is a good state. Hate to see it spread, but I guess they have to go somewhere. Hope the retro-Arkies do better. Reverse Dust Bowl, go figger.
  18. Tinker, I am looking for a Garand also, need new toy! I was going to go through CMP, just applied for the local club so I can buy. Does the source you used have a similar deal? Are the prices or condition better? Would you email me the info? Thanks, Brad
  19. GN, By the way, I'm stuffin' that mother with gunpowder. My 45-70 does well with the 4198 charge and no filler is needed. I figure with either 4198 or perhaps RL-7 or something close I can fill the case to around 85-90% and go boom. If I was shooting some lever gun or ss, all of this would be out of the question, but with a Mauser, especially a heat treated one, I'm running with the big dogs. Brad
  20. GN, thanks for the info. Will give me a place to start on that road. Sonic, I just went out to look at my stuff because all of a sudden it wasn't making sense. Remember how sailormilan was asking the questions about WHICH 45-90 I was using? Well, when I started looking closer I noticed everything they sent me was the 2.4" stuff. It was from Graf's. Some places at Graf's it says 45-90 Win (2 1/4") and others 45-90 (2.4) and you can't get any clear info, but as I said, what showed up is 2.4". Okay, finally got it square. The 2.4 IS the 45-90 Win round. Is no 2 1/4" case. So, sir, if you get a minute to check, and you're still willing, would you check to see if you can ascertain which reamer you have? Thanks again, Brad
  21. Gun nutty, I thought I better check back and be sure, is R-7 Reloder 7? If so, it does indeed look very promising. I have always had good luck the Reloders, maybe only once it was too bulky to make a good load in something or other. Sonic, Im seriously thinking about your reamer. Will check with Dave on Monday and see what he wants to do. Is yours the 45-90 Win (aka 45-2 1/4")? Thanks, Brad
