I had a pal back in my Marine days who feared no man or beast except snakes. Now Peter was a BIG fella and had done a few tours in the Nam as a grunt. One night when we were training out in 29 Palms, we put a piece of rope in his tent attached to a bit of string. When he went in to crash, one of the guys pulled the string and yelled "snake". I have gone into some fifth grade classrooms where "the kids are out of control" and have driven the fifth grade tracher to tears. Compared to my 7th and 8th grade classes, I found that fifth grade a walk in the park. It all depends on what you are used to. You HAVE to explain things to ladies and appeal to their better nature, once they see the reason, they pitch in. I was reading the Bible, Book of Numbers, to be exact. In chapter 31, the Israelites go to war against the Midianites. When the host comes back from the war with victory, Moses reads them off because they took POW some boys and women. Moses tellls the host to kill all the males of any age and any woman who has had intercourse, the virgins may be kept as slaves. The idea here is to wipe out the foe ..genocide. This surprised me, as a kid, I never read the Bible and always aussumed it was all peace and love. Can you see the result if we still made war that way? We would not have half the problems in the Mideast. Karl

The only logical reason for taking or trying to take a person's arms is that the taker has plans for the disarmed person, that he or she knows the disarmed person would resist with armed force. So if I want to enslave or kill you or your family and I DON'T want to get killed, I had best disarm you. If I can fool you into giving up your arms..crime..terrorism..for the children..all the better. After all you want the sheep to go along peacefully to the killing fields. When the factory jobs of our dad's time went overseas, we were told not to worry, The Third Wave' the information revolution, would provide professional work for all and for a while it did. Now John or Mary in fifth grade are competing with every child in China, India, and Europe for future work. The market is run by the hard rule of Darwin..If Ramer and Chin are learning history which make them proud of their nation and instill hard work as an ideal, if they master science, math and reading, while John and Mary learn "what is fun", how to feel good about their personhood,' John and Mary are going to be cleaning the homes of Ramer and Chin. The Moor is pushing the Izzy out of Gaza. The army of the Jewish state has not been defeated in the field but in the mind. LBJ said the North Vietnam would not be allowed to conquer the South, yet we saw NVA tanks take Saigon. The Americans were not defeated in the field but in the mind. The Marines lost 240 men in Beirut. Did they go into the Bakka valley and lay waste to Syria? No, they pulled out. The USA was not defeated in the field but in the Mind. In Somalia, Americans were killed ...we bugged out..again defeat in the mind. We are losing about 10 people aweek in the Mideast and already we here cries of " the USA cannot take these loses." As a History teacher I spend a lot of time in the past and I know the numbers lost in the Civil War 600.000. In WW l it was 11,000,000. For 400 years The West had such belief in itself that a few hundred men were able to conquer whole nations, nor is the answer to be found only better weapons, if it were the Izzys would not be pulling back.
