Folks. I have a very strange Vz24. It won't group at all from sandbags not even at 50 meters. YET, shooting offhand at 100 meters, it will put all 5 rounds rapid fire in the black. It does tend to V but the rounds are in the black. This is a very strange rifle. I had to counterbore it as inspite of having very strong rifling, the muzzle was mush. I sporterized the stock, put on a turned down bolt and a mojo rear sight so I am not surprised that it shoots well offhand, but why won't it group from the sandbags? Any ideas??? Karl

I agree, they see it as buying peace, sort of like the Eastern Roman Empire paying the Huns to attack the Western Roman instead of them. I don't see why we just don't land the 1st Mardiv and declare a "protectate" over the oil fields. Since the Islamic world hates us they may as well fear us. Karl

I would add that Iran is the "center" of the Islamic movement and it must be conquered. Until that is done the problem will remain. I don't know how we are going to do it. It will take 500.000 troops to do it right, no more zoomie shock and awe bs and that I think means a return to the draft. Unless the Iranans are dumb enough to explode a nuke or organize an another 9/11 I don't see that happening. Folks. I needed some ammo so I called the good folks at SOG. 200 7.62/54r and 200 mauser rounds for $58 bucks total. Now if you can find Milsup ammo the local shops, it goes for $ 6 per 20 rounds plus tax. If you cannot find mil-sup ammo, well try anywere between 10 to 20 bucks for a box of 20 rounds. If I wanted to buy by the case, I have no place to store cases of ammo, alas, it would have been cheaper. What a golden age this is for shooters. Karl

When you put the barrel in the vise, you want the muzzle facing your drill. Karl

Almost, I would add that you use a brass carriage bolt. Be sure to plug the bore with a patch. Set the barrel in a vise and make sure it is at 180 degrees to the floor. Oscillate the drill and finish off by polishing the muzzle with 1500 paper and rebluing with cold blue than clean the bore and you are done. Karl
