  1. Somebody heated it red hot and hammered it out flat and down to clear scope.
  2. AZ, the turtle is a leather back soft shell turtle that’s about as rare around here as horny toads. This one crawled up creek bank and dug hole and layed eggs. Then back to creek. When I was a kid growing up fishing on Red River they were aggravating bait stealers.

Dumbassity with a deadly weapon. I’d like to hear from from veteran Holly Wood movie producers and stars what they think. No firearm training is result of what happened. If you had 20 6 year olds at a birthday party and park a car in middle of them and leave keys in it while the 2 adults are drinking wine and watching The View,, something BAD will happen.
  4. Never seen a ghost, alien from space,or a Sasquatch. You’d think I’m from Missouri, because “Show Me” and maybe I’ll believe it.
  5. Dang AZ,a new knee will be a game changer for you.
  6. The short post is the bottom of a power pole that was changed out. It was near a stock tank where hogs would roll in mud then rub against pole. They left it the length it is. I cut it off at ground. Plan on making a dude den table. I need a small wagon wheel rim and piece of expanded metal.
  7. I tapped the sight set hole 8-32, then not having bottom tap I ground it flat to get as many threads as possible. Put a little JB weld in hole and tightened it real snug, then filed and polished. Still has half a ghost ring but it’s a military barrel.
  8. I’ve never had a fear of spooks and wish my deceased loved ones would talk or show themselves too me. The demons walking amongst us I worry about. Seems to me Baldwin going for I never pulled the trigger defense.
  9. Spooks in a church are the only ones I would WANT to talk too ! I think that would be so cool.
  10. I have3 bolts I cut off and replaced and am going to cut ball off one and weld the shank to another to lengthen it a little then reshape to get it lower and swept back some. Beautiful rifle Dr. Hess. Maybe someday I’ll be there. I’m gonna send pic. of a bolt I just replace for my brother. I copied the length and sweep from his Husqvarna commercial sporter. The bolt is the 12.00 Numrich.
  11. I got it right this morning Jim. Put on my cheaters and pinched the cinnamon instead of shaking it. Thought there’s no way I’ll taste that little dab. Perfect. The good deep well water at huntin lease makes good coffee on its own.
  12. Funny that an old blind man can get it perfect and I’m only half blind and got too much in mine this morning.
  13. Old bygone I guess tradition was for girls to have a cedar hope chest they stored their mothers wedding dress, table clothes and fancy Quilts and bed spreads.
  14. Thought I put way too much in this morning but didn’t hurt it. AZ, remember before we could buy a Coke anytime we wanted or grab one outta the icebox just because we are thirsty? You had to drink something all day just to survive Texas and most especially Arizona heat so most kept a pitcher of tea that would taste funky if left over from day before. My Grandma would put tiny bit of baking soda in it at night and it would be ok until about noon next day. After that very rank. Sorry for running my head. AZ jarred loose memories talking about baking soda in coffee.
  15. What we use to call factories are now known as assembly plants. I always search for “Made in America” for heading to ChinaMart. Doesn’t bother me at all to pay double for something I need that twice as good. Crazy but Fox News just had 3 companies on that are still in America. One was ladies stuff I never heard of, Channel Lock and Mag Light.
  16. Noticed commercial didn’t mention made in his factory in Minnesota by Americans, so done some research and they are imported. Still a fan of all Mike Lindel stands for and it sucks how media tried to ruin him but am disappointed he has to import to compete. Gonna check LL Bean to see if theirs are imported. I need new pair.
  17. My brother had coffee recently with the old West Texas rancher we lease hunting from and said it was the best coffee he’s ever had. Old feller said he puts a pinch of cinnamon in the grounds. My brother has had coffee all over the world and was way impressed, so I had to try it. I already drink way too much and this trick will make me double up. Can’t even taste the cinnamon. It takes the harshness (only way I can describe it) out. Might even make Starbucks ok for me. The rancher is near 90 and almost blind but sure knows coffee. He rides 4wheeler 1/4 mile to mailbox by listening to tires on gravel. He owns 3,000 acres and his boots are wrapped with duct tape. One cool old man. We made a great friend with the hunting being a great bonus.
  18. I had a great Thanksgiving. Wish I owned a home stomach pump so I could start over.
  19. Cedar lined closets are suppose to be for moth. Wonder why 5 gal. bucket of cedar shavings from Tractor Supply they put in horse stalls wouldn’t work in a closet ?
  20. Thanks for the reply Dr. I was hoping there was some magic or secret tool I never heard of to make more of a chamfer on outside edge. 1st Swede I sportered 20 years ago I had a Smith cut and crown barrel and expected the outside edge to look more like the one he cut off. It’s just a glitch I have. Target and bull barrels should be the look I go for. They’re not heavily chamfered. Thanks again Dr. Hess.
  21. What’s the best method to chamfer a barrel that’s just been cut ? I just ain’t that good with a file. I cut a Chilean 95 today and turned out great. Gotta crown and chamfer now.
  22. Great report Mr. Tracker. I have 2 96’s battle ready and a 38 Husqvarna. Just finished a 96 for hog hunting that’s a sweet shooting little rifle. Composite stock, cut barrel to 22”. It was gunshow find that had bolt forged and drilled and tapped for scope, so was easy to make a hunting rig. Yours sounds like a hum-dinger-roo !
