  1. Glad you found Quail Creek range Tom.That's a hot little hole but the ideal place for a range. My son was about the age of yours when they opened up the range, and we spent lots of fun time down there.Wouldn't you love to own a place like that? Your raising'em right Buddy! Jerry
  2. T,What do you think of the P63.I have one and it's my favorite stick in my pocket gun.The dang thing knows what I want to shoot.I had it in my jeans pocket 2 years ago while unloading our car at a Little Rock Arkansas motel at 12:30 am when a black guy stepped out of the hedge and told me he had to have some money.I wouldn't have pulled it so quick, but my wife was on the otherside getting her stuff and I figured there was another that would grab her purse.Showing the dude the little P63 ended an ugly scene,he wanted no part of it.My 9x18 has been my best traveling buddy since. You sure have a bunch of dandy pistols! Jerry
  3. I just went to Gunbroker and Ebay and they have lots of Jap. parts and rifles. The t-38's sure seem to be finished out better than the T-99's.I saw a 38 once that was sportered with a Bishop stock, the safety knob was turned down a little, and the barrel was maybe 22''.It was one fine looking light weight gun,and the guy that sporterized it let it show how proud he was of it in his price. There are lots of rifles at gunbroker that are priced way below Mausers, and ebay had about 60 hits for parts.Nothing will ever take the place of a Mauser, but I'm thinking about starting to like the Japs a little.A sportered T-38 looks a heck of a lot nicer than one of those Russian things, and from what I've been reading,a bunch stronger too.Jerry.
  4. How is a barrel band swivel base attached to the barrel? Are they sweated on?Z had one on a gun a while back, and I sure was classy.Midway has a Talley for $28.79,but I think I can make one.I'm going to make a sling swivel jig too. After looking at the pictures of them,it'll be way simple to do.I'm not exactly cheap, but I get as much enjoyment out of making tool as working on guns.Jerry
  5. I'd like to see a Arisaka forum too. One of the sweetest sporters I ever saw was at a Ft.Worth gunshow, and it was a 38 Jap 6.5.They have a dandy looking barrel,no steps with a good contour, and the guy had turned down the safety knob some, but was still large enough to work easily.I remember my relatives showing their war trophies(Jap rifles)and they'd call them either the little 25 caliber or the big shell.I remember hearing so many times,we'd shooter if we had some shells! Jerry
  6. Thanks for your trouble and time Tony! Checking in on my gun buddies, buying gun parts, and talking to my kids through e-mail is about the only reasons I turn on this gizmo.I check to see what ya are talking about at 4am every morning, and is usually the last thing I do before going to bed. It'd be a big chunk of my daily routine gone if you hadn't kept us going.I wish there was something more I could do to help besides just thanks.I'm very computer challenged.Jerry
