The Synagogue in Colleyville is only about 5 miles from me, and I didn’t know it exist, but yet the diaper-head holds 4 hostages 11 hours and FBI says it has nothing to do with being Jewish church. Just a fluke he picked a Synagogue Saturday morning at 9:30 when they have services.

They have the blind magazine box with the cheesy trigger guard. Any of you cats ever inlet a real trigger guard magazine into stock?

Here is the bolt I used on last 2 rifles. They’re plenty long and width at end is same as 95 and 98 stub on bolt. They weld great. Also a pic of the heat stop paste I use. I get it on Amazon. I picked up the end of bolt after a weld pass and wasn’t even warm so stuck my finger in paste. Burned snot outta my finger. Amazing stuff. My bolts never got hot at all. I make one side weld and walk away until completely cool before next weld. I know I ain’t telling you cats anything new. Just thinking someone that’s never welded a bolt need not let so called experts scare them off. No way would I heat one red hot to forge when welding is so much easier. At least for me. I have 2 bolts that were forged and lugs are still harder than a woodpeckers lips and look nice. I just like them a little longer.

No lathe. I ordered another 6.5x55. I have ‘06, .270 and .308 large rings but have several rifles in those cals. I have 3 small ring actions I need to use up.

I thought it might be a heat sink but way way different than the one I have for 98’s. I put a file on it snd is soft. Sorry !

I have this and it screws into 93 bolt. Had it over 30 years and don’t remember what I bought it for. Let me know if you want me to send it. Looks like a thread chaser to me.

What about a spare shroud with fine valve grinding compound. Works on barrels and sometimes you think no way. Just paint some on threads and start twisting in and out by hand. I have a thread chaser but can’t remember large or small ring I’ll look in a bit and let you know. If shroud won’t even try to start, think I’d be looking for another bolt. That’s a lot of heat.

The Fornies abandon their state and mostly move to Austin area that’s way blue. 2 families here within hollering distance and niece married into a family from Kali recently and all are great fantastic folks. They seem so happy. Neighbors from Kansas, and Boston won’t even wave. I’m as guilty as all other Texican Southern Red Necks in judging folks. When traffic light turns green and your not burning rubber the cat blows horn and hangs a finger out window, my automatic response is “ pork you yankee cork sucker”. I’m too simple minded to be mule-lipped while driving.

I can’t say I’m a carpenter but a good builder. I’ve built many hunting stands, several cabins and remodeled 3 houses. I build picture frames outta scrap. But I don’t have skills to dazzle anyone. I think I could if I had worked with someone and had the equipment. I’m extremely slow at gun working and carpentry. I really enjoy both though.

16 weeks(4 months sounds worse to me) wait for Shaw barrel and that’s for a .257 Roberts, chrome moly, 1-10 twist, 22” short chambered. $195.00. May have to forget gun tinkering and start building trailers again or try my hand at wood working. I can give away all the picture frames I can make. I can build toy boxes but won’t look like a piece of furniture.

I’m on Shaws mailing list and only thing they offer is bumper Jack style rifle barrels. They won’t answere emails either. Just like ammo for black rifles. Everybody has 223 and .308. .40 cal handgun ammo everywhere. Seems to me barrels and ammo disappeared at same time. I emailed Midway that lots of negative talk about them sending sales adds and 80 present of items “Out of Stock” or “Notify When Available “.

Started raining here in DFW Mexiplex about 9pm, so almost no fireworks. My dog Sammie had a good night. I know we’re in for hell-uva night tonight. Goofballs around here ain’t spending couple 100 bucks on fireworks for New Year then wait till the 4th to shoot them. Maybe I’ll make best of situation and test fire a Yugo I been working on. I’m 100yrds. From Fort Worth city limit and anytime I fire off a rifle there’s big chance the Towny Yuppies will call police. Not against law for me to shoot here, but a nuisance. Cops told me once they have to check on it if called in. Like burning brush pile, I can call in and tell them I’m gonna shoot couple times, but that doesn’t always work. Last year lady game warden showed up.

Can’t get over idea of a coffee table modeled after the toy box because of it being so beautiful I’d want it in living room and not in play room with tricycle motors jumping up and down on it. All it would need is bigger lip on top to make it a table. Think I’m gonna try to build one.

Yep. Small ring. Right on verge of ordering another 6.5x55 from Numrich. 149.00 and no idea who maker is. 6.5 is my choice but rifle will be for my son. I heard him tell my brother he always wanted a .257 Bob like his buddy hunts with, so light bulb went off. That was about when I was retiring and somehow got side tracked. He saw a 7x57 I just finished for my brother and went nuts over the dark grey laminate stock.

I need or want a .257 Roberts barrel but no luck now for several months finding new, used, or REM. take off.

What’s behind no barrels. Numrich, Midway,and Brownells all list them Out of Stock. Am I wrong to hope affordable short chambered barrels will ever be back ?

Outstanding ! So cool to see such craftsmanship in these days of plastic and cheap particle board from china. You made an heirloom. You could make a great coffee table same design just taller. Coffee table with storage would be handy.

Sorry to hear about that. We went through same thing except that I bought this house to have room for my MIL. It had to be completely remodeled to be liveable. Just about when I had it ready she passed away. 3 kids in the family but my wife was an only child when the poor old gal needed a place to live. It would’ve been hell of a battle to have her leave her house and move in here. I dreaded the day but never happened. Wish there was something cool or encouraging to say.
