  1. A next door college kid home from school shot a pellet gun most of the day yesterday. Must be a precision high power from the sound and he had a shooting bench set up.
  2. Beats the heck outta me except for the fact the lady has 3 Cleveland Bay horses and belongs to a hunt club. They follow hounds blowing bugle hollering “tally ho”. Her whole reason for life is those giant horses. She has 1 acre but leases 5 across road from me that she’s loosing next month when owner starts a house. We have 5 acres and man she’s working on us to lease it. I keep it all mowed and looking nice as I can so sure don’t want horses on it. Be interesting to see how she handles the boarding problem. We get along with them just fine, but knowing someone rates you second class because your a Redneck Southerner sucks. The dude is the one from Boston. She’s a military brat. He couldn’t pour piss outta a boot with instructions written on the heel.
  3. 80 degrees at noon, so I’ve almost given up hope.
  4. Turk 38 in .257 Bob ( if I can find a barrel ). My son went ape shot over the Chilean 95 I just finished for my brother, so gonna try to duplicate it. Maybe next Christmas before he gets it. I can’t do 300.00 for a barrel and no one has any barrels yet, so we’ll see. The action is cleaning up beautiful.
  5. Lib neighbors won’t say Merry Christmas and hate In God We Trust. They’re transplants from Boston but have been here 20. They look down their noses at us deplorable, gun totting Bible thumping WalMart shopping Neanderthals Texicans.
  6. Ever since Obama years when we were told not to say Merry Christmas I love saying it now. Feels like a beautiful Spring day here in Tejas.
  7. Karl for President ! Of course demonrats will claim he’s the GGG grandson of Karl Marx. Merry Christmas.
  8. I reckon that makes lots of sense. Get as much as you can quick as you can instead of spending 40 years with same results. We’re screwed.
  9. What’s the old saying “better to die standing fighting than living on your knees”? Term limits !!!!!!
  10. Takes sorry bastardos to buy from them !
  11. I don’t care for Gutfeld, but a while back he said Mayor Buttigieg reminded him Eddie Haskell. Smart mouth and don’t like Beaver.
  12. We made good money for kids picking up pecans in the fall. That was every other year. My brother and me picked up a tow-sack full each and made about 9.00 each one year and were on top of the world. Actually 2 sacks each because it was on the half’s. Landowner got half. I think we got a nickel for pop bottles when Coke came out with King Size Coke. When we got big enough to haul hay we learned what real work was. I didn’t inherit Dads dream of farming. Helping Dad and Grandpa build pipe corals I wanted to be a welder and did for lots of years.
  13. From ‘53 to ‘66 we lived 12 miles on Red River from Muenster Texas where Dad tried so hard to be a farmer. Lots of Saturday’s Mom would go to town and drop me and my twin brother off 3 or 4 miles from town so we could pick up pop bottles outta ditch. 2 cents each. We had a tow-sack and jar of water. If she had to go on to Gainesville to bigger stores like for clothes we’d be in Muenster waiting on her. We spent the money on BB’s. Sometimes we’d only get the little 10 cent tube, great day would be the 25 cent tube. I still have a Nickle bag of the old Daisy BB’s. We both still have or original Daisy model 80 guns that still shoot. Nearly worn out and still twice the power of the new Red Rider I bought my grandson.
  14. I’ve been called many names the last 68 years and this is first time artist was used. Thank you cats for being so kind with my feelings. Y’all remember 20 years ago how their was always someone on the gun boards that would trash the hell outta anything you posted, and probably they never owned a gun ?
  15. Dumb and Dumber’s Hog always made me want one. Finally got it. Needs a little work. Wait to get it running before I get a tatt and diamond stud earring.
  16. All done except for 1 sling swivel. It’s a Yugo 48 in a Swede 96 sportered stock I’ve had maybe 40 years. Swede trigger guard , 98 trigger that I took 1st stage out with set screw. I made barrel band sling swivel from 1909 front sight and rear sling stud ground down from CZ 24 sling mount. Big hole in stock behind bolt that I have no clue what for so I inletted a Peterbilt emblem in it. Original front swivel hole was busted out for some reason so I filled it with the end of a 8mm casing. Williams Firestick front sight. Funny looking rig but orta ride good on 4 wheeler and thump hogs.
  17. I just got a new 6.5x55 barrel from Numrich that I’m gunna put on ‘03 Turk. 140.00. No clue who made it. Wanted 7x57 but out of stock. Love me Swedes anyway.
  18. Chilean 95 barreled action,Bold stock,Timney trigger with side safety ,Spanish 1916 hinged trigger guard, new bolt handle, barrel cut and crowned by me. It shot and ejected perfect. The follower that came with trigger guard was hanging up so used a Swede 96 and now perfect. I couldnt see any difference in them. Amish made 1” black leather sling.
  19. My brother-in -law died in January from China Virus. His wife remote started his truck last week and all windows went down, so she says he’s pranking her. Hope she’s right
  20. Maybe I’ll work on safety some today. Just coming off a 2 week goober hacking cold and have a rifle to finish up for a Christmas gift. With the price of low safeties at around 50.00 I think it’s a good idea to rework issue safeties.
  21. Me too. I was thinking of cutting almost into to hinge flag down against bolt then re-weld. Maybe Dremel the flag out Dayton Traister MK II style. I’m a lefty and prefer a firing pin blocking safety on left side. Maybe I’ll mock one up this afternoon.
  22. I changed it out this afternoon right after I took the pics. It’s cool someone used that much imagination. It’s going on display.
  23. If you stretch to pic out you can see the crack along top.
  24. Safe is straight out at 90 degrees. Of all the old hobby gunsmith books I got and all the Mausers I’ve looked at last 45 years have I ever seen a safety done that way.
