  1. One time a mouse ran up my grandpa's pants (he wore big baggy pants). He grabbed the mouse through his pants and pulled him out away from his leg and with his other hand got out his pocketknife and cut a big chunk out of his pants to get rid of the mouse. I guess he wasn't taking any chances. :D

  2. Clemson, I think sometimes those things just happen. I had the same thing happen to me with a brand new Manson reamer. I sent it back and they polished on it some but it still done the same thing, I tried several different barrels and several different techniques and different feeds and speeds and nothing I did would make that reamer not chatter. I even tried wrapping it with different materials like you sometimes hear and still a no go. I finally gave up on the reamer. I guess the stars weren't aligned when that reamer was made. I've used dozens of other reamers and never had that happen before or since. BTW it was a 7.62x39 reamer.

  3. Joe, did you get your francotte from A.C. too? What condition is it. Does it look like it might be a shooter? I'm rebuilding mine from the ground up and rebarreling to 33 win. I wouldn't have shot it before the rebuild. Too far gone.

I also have a Gahendra and have shot it. It has a nice bore, but, the throat is the tightest spot in the whole bore. Not very conducive to accuracy. I did manage about 4 inches at 50 yds. I guess minute of pig. The trigger pull felt like about 20 lbs.

Keep us updated on your progress.

  4. I think I would die in that kinda weather. Just turn into an icicle.

I'm not gonna tell you what the weather has been like here. It would just make you feel bad.

Although, when July and August gets here. Well, you get the picture. :(

  5. I've tried to do that for the last 4 yrs. At least once a season I try to shoot a turkey in the head or neck so I won't waste the meat. This is the first year that I connected. But, it's almost impossible when they wont stand still and pecking on the ground. . This one just happened to pose long enough for me to make the shot. :D

  6. Do you eat these pigs?

I heard some say that they're not edible some reason.

Yep, we eat them if they're not too old and rank. A boar over about 125 lbs is starting to get to where I won't mess with it. The best eating is a fat female (gilt) under about 100 lbs. My favorite is BBQ ribs and a cold beer. UMM. Now I'm gonna have to fire up the pit this weekend. :D

  7. Oh no! You killed old Macdonalds pig!

Yeah, that's one ugly colored pig. I would call it turd muckeldy dunn. :D . Around here we have them from solid white to solid black and every combination in between. They all do the same amount of damage and multiply like rats.

Here's a boar my son shot a few years ago.

  8. Rojelio has asked for the take off barrel. There is a pretty good likelihood that it will make up to his action and headspace just fine.

    Clemson

Yep, Looking forward to it whenever you're ready to part with it.

Thanks Clemson. How's the project coming?
