  1. They both did good with one shot kills. One at 150 yds and the other at 75. This is their best deer so far. They both got a doe earlier in the season, also. Roger (proud grandpa)
  2. Hi Ken, thanks for asking. I haven't been getting a whole lot done on it since hunting season started. I have my priorities . I did manage to get the wiring totally finished and will start the plumbing shortly. Probably start right after the holidays. Weaver and I just got back from a bow hunt that we got drawn on. We were unsuccessful. It was a doe culling hunt and all I had within range for 3 days were bucks. Finally on the last day with 15 min. left in the hunt I got a doe within range and blew the shot. And thats why I like mausers . Anyway, when I make more progress, I'll post some pics. Roger
  3. My oldest son shot this buck opening morning (one of my grandsons is in the pic). sorry for the quality. Taken with a camera phone. Both of my grandsons shot does. Here is one of them. Didn't get a pic of the other. I didn't see anything that I wanted to shoot. Roger
  4. Sometimes it just don't pay to get out of bed in the morning.
  5. Congratulations! Black bear is on my bucket list. Maybe in the next few years. I think a bearskin rug would look nice. Roger
  6. Wow, lookin' good. I can see you're a shotgunner, too. Do you bird hunt? And I like your parts counter stool. Roger
  7. Congratulations. I believe in starting them out early. My grandkids (girls and boys) love to go out and sit in the blind with grandpa. Keep up the good work. Roger
  8. My son and his friend (I didn't get a picture of his friends antelope) were both using Remington 300 Win. Mags with factory ammo. I used my P14 Enfield 7mm Rem. mag with handloaded 139 gr Hornadys and Weaver used a Ruger tang safety 300 win. mag with his handloads to shoot his buck. All shots were long. Mine was probably the shortest and it was close to 400 yds. We all had a great time. Roger
  9. Yes they don't taste near as gamey as a whitetail, but, they stink worse when you're gutting them. Roger
  10. Weaver and I made it back last night. We had a good time and everyone got a buck and doe. Here's a few pics. My antelope Weaver's freak antelope My son John's antelope
  11. First Blood! Way to go. Weaver and I will be heading for Wyoming on Wednesday for the opening of antelope season on the 25th. Pictures to follow. Roger
  12. Vlad, you're asking Mike to give away all his trade secrets . Just kidding. Mike would probably tell you anything you wanted to know. If it was me, I'd cut the octagon first and then time the threads. The most you would have to set it back for a flat to come up on top is .010 (ten thous.) most probably less than that. I have an indexer and center and a couple of heavy barrels I plan on making into octagon. If I ever get around to it, I'll take some pictures. It's gonna be a while though with hunting season looming. Roger
  13. That's gonna be one nice gun when you're done. Roger
  14. Sometimes it just don't pay to get out of bed in the morning! Roger
  15. You would need night vision on these brutes especially that old wooly mammoth on the bottom. They're like vampires. When the sun starts to come up, they go back into hiding. Roger
  16. These boars hang out around the cows, and, the cows don't seem to mind. Roger
  17. It depends on if you want a masculine gun or a femanine gun
  18. Brian, Is it hitting the back of the receiver, or, is it locking up somewhere else?
  19. I'm too old to change!!! Roger PS: My wife has been trying for 36 years.
  20. I'm making progress between heatstrokes. I finished all the siding and trim and next week I'm having the overhead door installed. Then, I'll be totally finished with the outside except for painting any exposed wood. Next comes the wiring and plumbing. Roger Front view: Side view:
  21. Good one! Also, it would only turn left if it was a Democrap car. Roger
