  1. Happy Birthday Weaver! Tracy and Grandpa
  2. A bad day at the renge is still better than a good day at work. Roger
  3. Is that a Mosin Nagant? Roger
  4. Brad, one side has a bathroom with shower stall, vanity, and toilet. Also a small kitchen. Last year my wife had me remodel her kitchen and I saved all the kitchen cabinets ( there was nothing wrong with them). Will also have a water heater. The rest (16x24) will be shop area. This thing has been in the planning stages for several years. I got the siding on two walls yesterday. Should get the other two today. Then I can start putting on the trim. I'll be glad when I get this stage finished so I can take a break. I'll take another picture when I get to that stage. Rojelio
  5. Mike, the pleasure was all mine. You're welcome to come back and hang out any time. Maybe next time the hogs won't be so elusive. Take care and have a safe trip home. Roger
  6. Ken, where's there's a will there's a way. Just take your time and do it a little at a time and don't over do it. Also, friends and/or relatives come in handy for the heavy stuff. Call in some old debts. Rojelio
  7. LL, I hate the thought of ever having to move. I've been living in the same spot for almost 30 yrs and you know how stuff accumulates. Besides, I own my home and don't owe a dime to anyone (except taxes) so I think I'll just stay put. Good luck on the move. Rojelio PS: I met Mike McCabe today. He came by the house with Weaver. They were going out to try and russle up some hogs. I hope they get something after suffering in this heat. Official temp here was 105*. On my back deck it said 110*
  8. Thanks, Jerry. A lot of sweat went into it so far. Weaver even helped me put up about half the trusses. I think what you thought was a bird house is just a T post marking my property line. There is a mockingbird nest in that oak tree and they fussed at me the whole time I was putting the roof on. I'm trying to get the siding and trim on and totally dried in before the next rain (fat chance on it raining). We're in the worst 22 mo. drought in the history of record keeping in our area. If you look at the pictures, the first one with just the slab was a little green from what little rain we got in the spring. The next picture just a little green left, and the last picture looks pretty crispy. Weaver and I got drawn for Wyoming antelope in September so I need time to prepare for that Rojelio
  9. Making progress. Rojelio
  10. Ken, I think you'll need a larger size ball end mill to open up the rails. It has to match the contour of the cartridge.I've used a 1/2 in. ball mill, but I think a 9/16 would work better. I don't know what the diameter of the 375 Ruger is. Here's a P14 Enfield I opened up the rails on

    New Rabbit Gun

Well a Leupold tech called me today and said they had no parts to repair the pioneer and asked if it would be ok to just replace it with a new FXII 4x33. Of course I accepted . I'm still in disbelief. I'm thinking Leupold will be getting more of my business from now on. Rojelio
  12. 35 years old!!!! Your still a puppy Happy B-day. Rojelio

    H&r Mauser

Thanks for the info Brad. After much research and examining the rifle more closely, I passed on it. From what I could determine, it's a pieced together gun. The only thing that is FN is the barrel and receiver. It has an Interarms bolt, triggerguard, and stock. It made me kinda leary and wondered what might have went on. Anyway, I passed. Rojelio
  14. Wow! that barrel looks like a stovepipe. Lookin' good. Keep us updated. Rojelio

    H&r Mauser

Has anyone ever seen one of these? I found one in a pawn shop and I can't tell if it's an FN, Interarms, or something else. There's one on Gunbroker and the guy claims it's an FN action, This one doesn't feel as smooth as an FN. More like an Interarms. This one is a 270 win. It has a trigger safety, and in the bow release on the triggerguard. Decent classic stock with darker wood fore end tip and shadow line cheekpiece. 2-10 Simmons scope. $350 out the door. I'm hoping someone out there has some info on these. Thanks, Rojelio

    New Rabbit Gun

Can't ever be too careful!! I shipped the scope out today. Maybe I'll luck out and get a new one.

    New Rabbit Gun

Yes, it's a commercial FN. There's no markings above the wood (not even a serial #). Below the wood on the right side of the receiver ring it says FN 1951 and under that Made in Belgium. Rojelio

    New Rabbit Gun

I don't know, Mike. I might have to go with full house loads. Some of our Texas jack rabbits get pretty big. Weaver said he want's the stock. He's gonna build a gun for his little boy. Bunny on right side. Bunny on left side.

    New Rabbit Gun

I bought this at a pawn shop today for $277 + tax (300 out the door) for the action. The silver inlays really got me. Ha Ha. It has a rabbit and arrow on each side. The scope is an old 4x Leupold Pioneer with post and crosswire. It's still clear except the post looks like it has hair growing on it. I called Leupold and they said they would repair or replace it under warrenty. I almost fell out of my chair. You can't beat that. The base is a Buehler that's adjustable for windage and elevation. Oh yeah. It's a 30-06. I've been trying to talk the pawn shop owner down for the last six months on this rifle. He finally got right. The overall condition is pretty rough, but, the action is silky smoothe. Here's a pic, Rojelio
  21. Very Cool! Does that mag latch in place or is it a wedge fit. How about a little tutorial on the conversion. Thanks, Rojelio
