hello all.....I've always been a m48 fan and own one but i've been looking for another sporterizing project. what is your alls comments on the m48 verses the 24/47. Pros and cons of both. Does the 24 have the same short floor plate area of the 48 or is it larger (for detachable mag's, I know Don your gonna cringe but i like em now) i'm thinking a gun in 260 or 7mm-08 with a short, light barrel is how i want to go...maybe a light wood stock or syn..i dunno, and of course the scout mount w/red dot. let me know what you think. also what are these guns going for now? thanks.

what do you all think of the .260 remington? I'm thinking about getting a extra br. for my t/c encore and have been considering the 260 w/120 gr hollow point handloads. All i will be shooting is deer and maybe a ground hog or two, with most shots under 300.

hornady- they came out with military ammo i believe last year....maybe this year i dunno...its in the sportsmans guide for around $22. get you a box then re-load it a couple times. I think winchester also has military ammo too....i know they added a mil line but my not have 7.65 in it yet. Gotta love the argie's....got one in 1891 model....its had about 2 boxes of shells through it...my dad bought it new outta sears or wards cataloge when he was 14....hes now 61!
