  1. Military Rifles of Japan by Fred Honeycutt hands down. Its 42 dollars shipped, but its a bargain.
  2. I would avoid pawn shops just for the fact that you may be buying someone elses problems. Although you might be able to find a good sported jap in one.
  3. That might be a good one for sporting. If I were to sport a japanese rifle, I would just use a regular reciever and barrel.
  4. I would get a barreled action, or a bubbaed rifle, but I would rather use a barreled action. I would get a barreled action, and get or make a stock for it, then go from there. You are correct about a complete rifle being economical, but in the end, you will end up ruining a collectible rifle and losing money on it.
  5. Ebay just wants to screw gun owners, not bomb makers, for some reason, law abiding gun owners are more dangerous than bomb makers.
  6. Why tease us like that, you are required to show us some pics
  7. I like number 4. But just think about all the police men who are pro gun, they would be tossing away their badges if something like this happened, this country would turn into hell.
  8. I have seen an Iraqi marked K98k that was hacked and had been rechambered, the guy who did it has ruined alot of guns, he also tacticooled a north korean sks. I see him at gun shows every now and then and I cringe when I see him looking at arisakas and other WWII rifles.
  9. Have a great Birthday!!!! BTW, what is it like sharing birthdays with hitler and pot smoking day?!!!
  10. Just imagine all the rare arisakas out there that have been sported, like a 12th series rifle, or an emergency use rifle, or a TK without the Kokura symbol. Have you ever seen anything super rare that had been bubbaed?
  11. It depends on what arsenal the rifle is from, if its just a barreled action from, lets say, Koishikawa arsenal(the most common), then probably about 30 dollars, but if its something a little on the scarce side, then maybe a little or alot more.
  12. I have alot of democratic friends(most are hillary supporters) who have made it clear to me who they will vote for in an Obama VS McCain, they absolutely will not support obama as he is way to radical, hillary isnt as bad as obama once you think about it, it is just the press is making her look bad and making obama look like some kind of bipartisan leader, but I have yet to find any instance in which he showed bi partisan leadership. I dont like hillary or obama, but I urge every republican to vote for hillary in the primarys to cause some mischeif and to keep obomba out of office.
  13. That is a type 38, cant tell if its a carbine, cavalry carbine(uncommon rifle) or a regular long rifle. Can you get a pic of the serial number area? How long is the barrel? Has the barrel been cut at all?
  14. The good thing about last ditches is that they are for the most part bubba proof. You would have to be really determined to get it sported, because of the way the barrel band is put on. I would rather sport a mauser too(plan on sporting an M48 if I ever find one). I couldnt sport an arisaka, too much history to them, and they are almost all bringbacks.
  15. Here is a site that has some info. Do any of them have two circles where the mum should be? http://www.radix.net/~bbrown/japanese_markings.html
  16. Here is my new last ditch rifle, just shot it a few weeks ago, it was extremely accurate.
  17. Do you know the arsenals on them? I may want to buy one if its from an arsenal I am looking for.
  18. Do you still sport unmolested rifles or do you just work on already hacked ones? I toyed with the idea of tinkering around with a hacked arisaka, but I dont want to pay alot of money for one. It will be hard to top that one, its absolutely gorgeous.
  19. Can you post some pics of your sporter?
  20. There are actually alot of pro gun liberals out there, and I dont mean democrats from rural areas, but I mean real liberals, Whoopi Goldberg is an example of a pro gun liberal, and most of the college professors who filed briefs in Heller Vs DC are pro gun liberals. We shouldnt try to isolate a certain group of shooters who will normally have our backs. And Hillary and Obama are just idiots, but hillary would be less of a danger to gun rights as she does support CCWs, and obama doesnt know his ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to politics. I suggest everyone on here from PA should vote for clinton in the primary just to cause some mischief.
  21. I take it you are from fairbanks, I used to live in the Airforce base near there. What is the world coming too?
  22. When did you quit sporting them and start collecting them?
  23. Sported 38 rifles are every where, if you need help, I can help you in finding a good sported one and a good original one.
  24. Nice website. Do you still have your first jap?
  25. I got the ammo at cabelas, the ammo has gotten very easy to come by. Here is a picture of it, I will get more. It is a really nice gun.
