  1. I have a Graff's retail store here in St. Charles. There prices are very fair. You might want to check out their web sight.
  2. I have been thinking about a Glock in 45 acp for a while now. I have been doing some research and asking around. I have never fired one but don't know if they are for me. A coworker (would be Commando type) thinks they are the greatest. They might be, I just have had any time on the range with one. I think a Kimber would be better at twice the price. Then again I could get 2 Glocks for the price of 1 Kimber. Don't know which way to turn so I'm still looking around. Any one want to weigh in. I value the opinion of this Forum members over that of some Commando type. Ralph
  3. Thanks to all for the info. Azrednek's idea worked great. I didn't have a 410 brush handy. I did have an old, well used 5.56 chamber brush. I pushed it in until it couldn't go any further. The body of the case came out with little effort. I'll have to keep this mind if it ever happens again. Ralph
  4. I took my Marlin 336 (30-30) to the range this evening. I tried to eject a fired round and all that came out was just the head of the casing. Anyone know a trick to remove the body from the chamber? Thanks Ralph
  5. I took my Marlin 336 (30-30) to the range this evening. When ejecting a fired round the case head separated. Anyone know a trick to remove the body of the case from the chamber? Thankfully it's needed in 4 weeks for Deer season. Thanks Ralph
  6. I hit the local Flea Market every Sunday morning. I find some good deals to keep or flip on ebay. Any how one guy had a bag of odd and ends of shooting stuff. He had know idea what any of it was or what it was worth. He thought this was to clean the "carbon" off the muzzle of a firearm. Anyhow I got this 1/2" Chamfering tool, handle and 3 pilots. It came with 22 rimfire, .224 and 6mm pilots. I already had a 3/4" tool and .308 pilot. I think I got a good deal. Ralph
  7. Wow these are sweet. I don't think I have any thing nice enough to put in one of them. Ralph
  8. That is a sweet looking 1911. I may need to start buying raffle tickets. I never knew of anyone that won. Ralph
  9. I would hold him accountable for his mistake. I would explain how bad it could be for his business reputation if he doesn't correct his mistake. Ralph
  10. Sorry to hear about that. Did you get a "work order" from him? If so what did it say. If he didn't follow what he the directions then it's his fault. He needs to fix his mistake. If the directions were followed then he did as directed. Ralph
  11. Sounds to me like a Lawyer gave their input before the answer went to press.
  12. I can't speak for using a .22. I think a 380 is a good choice. I have a Beretta model 84. It holds 13 rounds and can handle hotter loads than most. I load mine to 9mm velocities without ever an issue. Two other pistols that can handle hotter loads are the PPK and Colt Mustang. Ralph
  13. I kicked in for what ever the Board needed. So it's ok with me. Ralph
  14. I have co-workers ask if I watch this and the other would be gun build shows. I have to explain it is as real to what I do as "The Brady Bunch" was to the real 1960's.
  15. I got an e-mail notice from Midway. The Wolff spring kit for my SP 101 were back in stock. I ordered it and 2 speed loaders. This morning I got a deal on a Don Houm "1st. agent" left handed CCW holster. All I need now is to take the Missouri concealed carry class. That will be on Sept 29th.
  16. The only thing it needed was a set of Golf Clubs and an empty Suit om the chair. Ralph
  17. I am only posting this here because everyone read this section. I have some brass that I am giving away. There is 16 once fired 45-70 ( 8@ R-P & 8 @ Hornady) I also have 14 rounds of nickle plated 38 supper once fired. These are free to the first taker. Just cover my postage to you. I'll send you a total after mailed. Just looking to pay it forward and do a good turn as an old Boyscout. Post an "I'll take which ever" and PM your address. Ralph
  18. I heard from Tanglewood today. The coop now has a 338-06 and gauges on hand. If anyone has this caliber in mind for a future build let Rod know. Ralph
  19. FC, I think I might have some once fired 44-40 brass. I'll look around and see if I still have them. If so you can have them. Ralph
  20. The SP101 has been around for for awhile. It has been chambered in 38 special and 357 mag. They came in 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 inch barrels. But only in a 5 round cylinder. The 327 federal has been out for 5 or 6 years. A 115 grain bullet has 85% of the energy of a 125 grain 357. With a 6 round cylinder. The SP101 can handle more more pressure because it has a 357 frame. I load mine at max to the latest Hodgon manual.
  21. Today was a awesome day as far as the weather was concerned. I needed to do something outside so I went to the range. I took my Ruger Red Hawk in 44 Mag. and SP101 in 327 Federal. The Red Hawk has had a trigger job and porting done. The single action pull is 3# and dbl action is 8#. My little SP 101 is in need of a trigger job. I didn't have scale with me but it was really noticeable after shooting the Red Hawk. I already looked on Midways site and will be ordering a spring kit. I also found a few u tube videos on stoning the trigger group. I'll let you know how it works out. By the way I love this 327 Federal cartridge. This SP 101 will be my carry gun.
  22. I just sent off today a new ( came from Brownell's on Thursday ) reamer in 338-06. I also included gauges for 06 family. Rod said the coop was lacking this caliber. I hope it comes in handy for many. Ralph
  23. Thank You Tony and all other members. I have learned more on this Board than any of the schools I flunked out of. Ralph
  24. FC Tanglewood is doing the fund raiser bolt for me. I need your pay pal info. I want to get these funds to you right away. Ralph

Tony, I just talked with Rod (Tanglewood ) He is going to do a bolt handle for me. The funds from it are going to help defray the costs of the board. My winning bid was $80. Rod said to send it to you directly. What would be the best way to get it to you. I have your pay pal or what ever works best for you.

Thanks for all you do for us on this Board.

    Ralph (rdm1962)
