  1. Being in retail as long as I have I state that they don't care. The margin on grocery items is only 2% - 4%. They also know that eventually you'll be back. Wally world actually makes no money on items like Tide or Bounty. They sell some things at cost. I was a manager for them for a year. They know that you'll spend more money if your getting a deal on a few items. They also know that the welfair / foodstamp people will shop there because they can make it a 1 stop location. They can get thing covered by assistance and other non covered items. You can get your wic items at the same time as liquor and chips. Ralph
  2. Those must be some of the "undocumented immigrants" that Obummer wants to bring out of the shadows. My daughter worked for the WIC office in our county. This kind of stuff is common place. Ralph
  3. Mine is to let more talented people ( Clemson, Don or Tangelwood ) do the work that require skills I don't have. Ralph
  4. Every time I search for Adam & Bennet mauser barrels I get directed to Battenfield' s web site. I know they used to be the manufacture/ seller of A&B barrels. I search but can't find them. Didn't Midway sell them also? I can't find them on their site either. Anyone know what's up on it. Ralph
  5. Don, great work as usual. Ralph
  6. Very cool Karl. I have a Sig GSR, it's commander sized. I carry it sometimes. I use a shoulder holster under a large button up shirt ( usually Hawaiian style), it hides very well. This might be an option. Ralph

    Race War

The racial tension in the St. Louis area is very high. Between Ferguson and the almost daily shootings carry permit are being issued at a record pace. I think twice before going into the city. I always carry now. Ralph

    Race War

I have heard that you can do Florida as an out of state person. Theirs is accepted by most states. Ralph
  9. Thanks for the info guys. AZ I looked at Backpage. Not much there and mostly overpriced. On gun broker there were lots of rifles with composite stocks, not really my thing. The nice sold ones are running around $500 +. I don't know if I really need (like that matters) a 243. My daughter has a 243 and I reload for it. So why not. I have a 223, 25-06, 280 rem, 30-30, 30 carbine, 308, 5 @ 30-06, 32 Win special, 6 @ 8x57, 303 Brit, 35 Whelen and a 44 mag. I don't have a shortage of rifles to play with but the offer seamed good. I'll have to do some more thinking on the subject.
  10. I have a chance to buy a really nice Ruger 77 in 243 for $525. I've had a Yugo action, a bolt with a sporter handle welded on and Richards laminated stock set aside for a 243 build for a few years now. I have 2 other project that still need to be finished. So what do you guys think Buy or Build?
  11. I can't stand flip flops either. Shower shoes are for the shower. My Porto Rican Drill Sargent called them chower choos. Ralph
  12. I can't stand Rove. He is out of touch with the average conservative American it isn't funny. I saw him on Fox News Sunday this morning. He spouted the same tripe. Charleston is a tragedy. A bigger tragedy is that there has been more than 10 black on black shooting in St. Louis City this weekend. Several have been fatal. That chief race baiter Obama wouldn't call it out. Maybe he should come out and tell his race to stop killing each other and start leading productive lives. This way the country will have resources to help the mentally ill people like this Ruff moron.
  13. I had some new neighbors move in this past March. They are a couple in their late 60's or 70's. I got the chance to talk to them yesterday. In a 15 minuet conversation this is what they told me. The events of Sept 11th. were an "inside job" and a controlled explosion. Your yearly flu shoot is used to inject a micro tracking chip. Hand sanitizer is used to weaken immunity of the human race. This way the "Buildabergs can reduce the world population to 580 Million". The U.S. Government is pushing a "melding" of the races for the pending one world government. They finished up by inviting my Wife and I to attend church with them. I felt like I was living in an Alex Jones radio show. We all have our quirks but, wow. Do you think they will un-invite us from church when a UFO drops Bigfoot off in my 4th of July BBQ. Ralph
  14. I guess the rag heads never heard "don't mess with Texas".
  15. Way cool. I just added this to my must see list.
  16. I say it's time for a firing squad.
  17. I have used Rosewood for a tip / cap in the past. I bought a 2"x2"x18" piece from a local custom cabinet shop. I've used it for 2 stocks thus far. So I have plenty left for another stock. However I would like to try something different. I found an online resource for Ebony. Is Ebony any harder to work than Rosewood? It's going to be used on a semi-fancy Walnut stock. I think Ebony would look better. I don't know if it is harder to shape and fit. Is there any special info I need to know before I commit? Thanks Ralph
  18. I have been a fan of 380 for a long time, since the 1980's. I started with a Bersa, now I carry a Beretta model 84. It looks like a down sized 92. My hand loads are 95grain hp's moving a mid-range 9mm velocity. 13 rounds in the mag. make a nice carry pistol. Ralph
  19. Speaking as a White guy that works in retail, I can thing of one I'd like to see burn some day. Ralph
  20. He was already on the run when I shot him. He was dead just the brain hadn't caught up with his legs.
  21. I think the pictures will post now. The picture of him on his side the bullet hole can be seen. Ralph
  22. A long and screwed up opening weekend of Missouri Firearms Deer season. A flat tire and forgetting my boot at home were just the tip of the Iceberg. It was 18* at sun up. At 8:30 this guy came running directly at me at 200 yards. I shot him at 180 yards. I put a 140 grain Nosler Partition in his chest. He ran about 20 more yards and dropped. I can't get the picture to upload. I'll work on it's size to upload. Ralph
  23. Karl, will power that's what I said 3 Glocks and 2 1911s ago. I have self control, today I passed on a 30-06. because I already have 4. You have to do what is best for you in the long run. We'll be here to support you. Ralph
  24. I have always liked the idea of a bolt action 30-30 rifle. I know that Savage and Stevens made several models. I have always thought they were clunky and cheep looking. I thought that a Mosin Nagant or a Styer M95 would be a good donor rifle. I think the clip feed Styer is the better choice. The rim of the 30-30 is .048 smaller in diameter than the 8x56r. It is .003 thicker. The widest part of the case on the 30-30 is .069 thinner than the 8x56r. In fact the European designation of the 30-30 is 7.62x51Rmm. I would like to know what you guys think. Can clips be "adjusted" to securely hold and feed a round in a properly barreled action? The extractor on a M95 would need to be larger to grab the rim on a 30-30. I haven't checked SAMI specs for each round yet but based on their age I would guess the 30-30 wouldn't exceed what the action can handle. Many M95 were rechambered in 8x57 Mauser by the Germans. I figured I would ask for some impute on this idea. Thanks Ralph
  25. Just sent my donation. Ralph
