  1. Your house, your call, Oh flatulant fowl.

I pop in on a lot of sites and look around. Others do same here. If someone wants to look over our shoulders, and it helps the shooting sports in any way, that is IMO a good thing.

If funds are needed just say the word, you got it Dude. I don't post as much as previous times, but still pop in at least every couple of days to see what the rest of the rapscallions and curmudgeons are up to.

  2. Thank you

It may be a small bone.

But the question arises what part of "Shall NOT be infringed" don't they understand?

    Karl

Dude, they understand it, but since they don't agree with it. They just take it upon themselves to ignore it.

“No piece of information is more important under federal firearms law than the identity of a gun’s purchaser — the person who acquires a gun as a result of a transaction with a licensed dealer,” Justice Elena Kagan wrote in the majority opinion.

Yet they refuse to hear cases regarding the constitutionality of the LAWS themselves. Only ancillary cases.

    I call it the 2A SCOTUS 2step.

  3. Like previous so-called "cop killer" bullets they will find themselves having a difficult time showing that it has killed or injured any cop.

Right, and there in is the rub. They being the omniscient "All Totally Fugged". Anybody or anything that they set their O-Bammy/O-Holder approved sights on is immediately presumed guilty simply because they said "May be Used" for nefarious purposes.

Example, the banning of 50 cal BMG rifles in Commyfornia. Because a criminal "MAY USE" one sometime in the future to kill someone or shoot through a cop car. Yet FBI statistics show that a 50 BMG rifle has "NEVER" been used in the commission of any crime, anywhere in the country.

COP KILLER boolits is just another made up Lib-Tard/BSM gun grabbing BS phrase. Like Saturday night Special, or Assault Rifle. No basis in fact, just there as a SPIN word to build false claims on. Originally used by Tards to describe the KTM made ammunition when it came out. KTM was the first initials of 3 LAPD officers who found that their MUST CARRY 38 spl revolvers would not penetrate a car door if the window was rolled down. So they developed and sold the KTM ammo which was made by COPS and only SOLD to COPS. We've all seen what happened once the TARD controlled BSM got ahold of the idea. The fact that sheet metal car doors and Kevlar body armor react totally different when struck by bullets was ignored. The fact that NO Body Armor Penetration Tests were ever done with KTM ammo didn't matter.

All that matters is what the TARDS and their BSM set their sights on next in the death of a thousand cuts to the Second Amendment.

  4. The ammo in question has been around for ages. The "All Totally Fugged" aka ATF decided in their usual lack of wisdom to classify the steel core ammo ILLEGAL because a company here in the USA started making an AK type "pistol" chambered for it. AP rifle ammo is OK by ATF standards but AP pistol ammo is EVIL COP KILLER SH!T.

JUST ANOTHER EXCUSE TO DENY SHOOTERS IN THE USA OF ANOTHER ITEM THAT 30 SECONDS BEFORE THEY DECIDED IT WAS ILLEGAL WAS PERFECTLY LEGAL.

Just like it is ILLEGAL to sell GUNS to MESSICAN DRUG CARTELS. Unless your name is Eric O-holder and are the #1 Butt Buddy of the Liar in Chief. Then it is perfectly OK to do so. Just ask Obammy. <_<

  5. Here in the South West we call em Mojado Mobiles

The state taxpayers feed Daddy with 3 hots n a cot. The Fed and state taxpayers feed and supply all other essentials to the rest of the herd.

Be sure and read the last 2 paragraphs and then contact your elected representatives.

Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, had sponsored the Safe Military Bases Act after the Washington Navy Yard shooting in September, a bill allowing all service members to be armed on post.

“This is the third mass shooting on a military base in five years, and it’s because our trained soldiers aren’t allowed to carry defensive weapons,” Stockman said in a statement Thursday urging Congress to move on the bill. “Anti-gun activists have turned our military bases into soft targets for killers.”

Ouch, it is always painfull to lose a family member. Sad for your loss. Condolances.

Well poop, C&P'd the wrong post. Shoulda been this one. :(

Thanks for the replys. Wehad to put our dog down last night so it may be a bit before i get back on this.

  8. My question is, is there a way to take this off evenly without a lathe? Before I just start attacking the barrel with a file I was hoping to get some more ideas.

In a perfect world the shank should measure as Ken stated .645". But in the real world of rifles that are over 100 yrs old and no telling who has done what to them without carefull inspection.

I would first ascertain "WHY" shank is .020" to long for the reciever. If it properly measures .645" + or - a bit. Shank may be too long or reciever may be too short. It is common to make clean up cuts with a lathe and mandril to "square" reciever face to bore. But usually this only entails a few thou. to clean up.

Since it is a Swede small ring it does not have an inner bearing "C-ring" for the breech to butt against. So IMO, yes shortening could be done with diligent/carefull file work.

If it was a 98, answer would be unqualified "NO WAY" because of unequal induced stress on breech and reciever.

Do you have headspace gages? Have you measured existing case protrusion on barrel? Have you done your homework? Have you done the math? Have you measured the reciecer from shoulder to bolt face? Have you taken into consideration that rechambering will be required to make the proper headspace?

Lot of things to take into consideration before you pick up a file or chuck it into a lathe.

  9. Makarov hull spitters can be tamed some by modifying the ejector. Another option is scrounging an old aluminum framed window screen and dadoing a slot in a 2x4 to fit it. Many ranges with open benches supply them for use.

But in answer to your question........I've never had a P-83

  10. Others have solved the blind mag feeding issues by fabricating a thin aluminum part which externally fits the bottom of mag well recess. With an internal profile that is slightly larger than the spring foot. I made one for a Rem 700ADL without the internal profile and just pop riveted the spring to it.

Most times feeding prob is caused by the spring moving to one side or the other and not pushing straight up on the follower.

  11. Today............Russia landed troops, choppers, and planes and now in complete control of the Crimean Penninsula. Their warships have blockaded the Ukranian Coast Guard vessels.

It's Georgia all over again..........with Putin claiming it was necessary under security agreements with the previous Ukranian Gov.

  12. If you are asking about Downtown Abbey..............Nope. Don't do Brit Soaps.

If you are asking about "Death In Paradise" set in the Carribean starring Ben Miller as Inspector Richard............Yep loved it. but they only made 2 short seasons of it. Making a third, but waiting for it to get here after its BBC run on either PBS or Netflix.
