  1. I’ve been tempted to get a 10MM pistol. The current deal killer is the cost and scarcity of ammo. If I were to get another 1911, it would likely be the Armscor. The Armscor corporation is Philippine owned but they set up a manufacturing facility somewhere in Montana to make the Rock Island. In an interview I saw on YouTube they were developing forged rather than investment cast frames and slides. I assume Armscor hasn’t started production yet as I haven’t heard anymore about it. To the best of my knowledge, only the Springfield and Taurus 1911s use a forged steel frame. Not that there is anything wrong with investment cast like my Remington but the forged steel frames will likely last longer from wear. I’ve been patiently awaiting more like hoping Beretta would build their PX in 10 MM but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Pistol manufactures are getting away from hammer fired in favor of striker fired.
  2. I suspect the CZs will be around long after we’re gone.
  3. Has anybody noticed a sharp increase recently in FFL fees to receive?? My FFL was charging $20, increased it to 35 and now it’s 50. I contacted FFLs from the Gunbroker page. Three failed to return voicemail messages. Two kitchen table FFLs said they were no longer receiving and the third a nearby pawnshop I’ve used in the past. Told me the owner said no more because of the hassle from ATF. He didn’t know the details other than the shop’s owner saying no more receiving internet sales. Just imagine Biden getting the boot and Kamala keeping her campaign promises of ending the sale of weapons of war, hi cap mags etc through executive order if Congress failed to act in 30 days. We’d win in the courts but it could take months or even years. We could as Wayne LaPierre said of ATF tactics and agents be dealing with jack booted thugs. As Yogi Berra said “it’s deja view all over again”.
  4. BTW Ken, is the genuine CZ all steel or a lighter weight alloy??
  5. Hey Ken, I know exactly how our feel. A few times I’ve left home unarmed. Made me feel naked in a crowd of well dressed people. One time in particular I have to admit being scared. A landscaping crew were parked in a bank’s drive-thru. Their engine was shut off and I was in the middle of three lanes. To the lane right of me appeared to be an ATM service vehicle stopped. The driver got out with a tool bag and opened up the ATM machine. Being scared and unarmed I hit the cancel button grabbed my card and left rapidly. I called 911 as soon as I was sure the landscaping crowd couldn’t see me. Surprised as cops came to my home asking about what I saw. Cop told me the crew were claiming to have parked there for shade as they ate lunch and assumed since it was a Sunday the bank was closed. Since that incident I can’t recall leaving without being armed. I usually carry a S&W 38 snubby in an IWB holster. I recently bought a NAA 22 Mag and leave it in my center console. Just in case I leave unarmed again. When I picked the 22 up from a FFL. I found out my CCW expired several months ago. It took about 20-25 minutes before I was cleared in a background check. Before I was out gun in hand in a flash without having to wait. My area in Phoenix is rapidly going downhill with gangs, hookers and illegal aliens. Recently there have been punks playing chase in their cars. They speed up and down streets, brotty around corners and seem to take delight in squealing their tires. Lasts about 5-10 minutes then their gone. Might not be so bad if it wasn’t 2-3:00 AM. Last night it was two loud motorcycles but they stopped as soon as the police helicopter arrived. I hate to sound like a hypocrite as I did the same thing when I was 16-17 years old. I stopped after a brick was thrown at my windshield. It didn’t hit the glass but left a nasty ding on my 57 Chevy’s hood. My friend within a few minutes of getting home got a visit from a state cop. The cop lived on a corner we flew around. I was ahead and apparently the cop got his plate number but not mine. Lucky for me my friend didn’t rat me out claiming he didn’t know who I was. A few months later my friend was arrested by city cops and the state cop was there. The state cop said something to him like I warned you that I’d be watching everything you did. Charges were dropped as my friend was 17 about a few weeks short of his 18th birthday. He was getting it on with a willing 13 year old. Anyhow as I started keyboard rambling again and back to my Turk clones. I only paid about $300 each for them about the same time the Obama shortages had stopped. The not pictured genuine mil-surp CZ 9Mak only cost about $220. I bought the compact 9MM intending to carry it concealed but being all steel and not a lightweight alloy frame or slide. It was to heavy to carry comfortably inside my waistband. Occasionally I carry the 9 Mak in colder climate with my shirttail covering it up outside my waistband. I feel considerably more secure carrying 12 vs the 5 rds of my 38. As heavy as the all steel 45 is I did carry it concealed as I used to go into the rough neighborhood to collect rent at night. I had previously 86’d a non paying family. The family had three hot looking teenage girls. A few times a crowd of teen boys tried intimidating me while I was cleaning the house up after it was vacated. I found out after they were kicked out. The teenage son was selling Meth and Pot out of the garage. I’m sure I PO’d some of his junkie customers. I very openly carried the 45 with a shotgun in my truck’s cab while I did the yard work. I eventually got the renter to meet up halfway with the rent check or I’d pick it up on a Sunday morning. Going into that hood at night is like going into Mexico. Numerous parties, loud Spanish music playing and teens dancing in the street. My complaint with the 45 were the very cheesy ill fitting plastic grips. I ordered CZ wood grips for the 9 and 45. Don’t know if it was intentional but real CZ grips the screw holes are off about 1/16 of an inch, possibly even less just very slight. I sold both sets on eBay recouping most of my investment. I eventually found wood grips specifically for the 45 from an eBay seller in Turkey. Cost me about 50 bucks but well worth it. I’ll post a photo later if I don’t have it in my files. My 45 as with other clones I’ve read about on the net. The slide staying open on the last shot is unreliable. Foolishly believing what I read. A Facebook poster claimed it was the magazine and a Mec Gar mag would fix it. A $36 Mec Gar mag wasn’t anymore reliable than the mags furnished with the pistol. Neither the Turk or Italian 9MM clones have a problem staying open. Sorry about the crummy photography, my iPad doesn’t have a flash. The US GI canvas holster is a near perfect fit but won’t fit the leather 1911 holster. I usually keep the 45 handy and ready in my bedroom. The hammer is in the half cock position safety on and makes the first D/A trigger pull smooth after dropping the safety. With the hammer down home it’s difficult to not pull to the left on the first shot.
  6. Smart choice but last handgun you’ll ever buy?? Good luck but I doubt. Been saying the same to myself for years. Then one comes along oh well just one more. I only have one genuine CZ and it’s a mil-surp chambered in 9 Mak. Being a cheapskate I have a few Turk and one Italian CZ clones. Been a real love affair with all of them especially my Turk 45 ACP.
  7. One of my former postal patron’s family had a farm in Georgia that grew the best tasting and juiciest peaches I ever had. I tried but failed miserably trying to grow the peach’s pits. They also grew sweet onions my X would eat like they were apples.
  8. Swampy I’m sure it will get better just as soon as Uncle Joe’s Global Warming freaks take control of the planet’s weather and save the planet and Al Gore’s polar bears!! Back in the 70s I visited family in California and Oregon during a bad ass drought. My first shock was in a restaurant I stopped as I drove into LA. I had to pay for a glass of water. It was a nominal fee but required by law. I think it was only a dime. I was traveling with my twins they both wanted more water. The waitress brought glasses of ice instead of water. She explained there was a limit on the amount of water a restaurant could serve one person but the bureaucrats didn’t put a limit on restaurant ice. My uncle in LA had to let his very green and perfectly manicured Dichondra lawn go bad as lawn watering was prohibited. Watering trees was limited by the tree’s length measured in quarts and pints. Had to cover shower drain and floor with towels and rags. Then had to take wet towels and twist them dry over a flower bed. I was told if they got caught watering the garden with a hose they could be fined by the city. People were taking their laundry to laundromats because they could be fined if they used more water than the previous year reduced by a percentage. I recall driving past a car wash. Cars were being washed by hand using buckets for water. After leaving LA and driving to Oregon I noticed several hotel and motels were closed. Once they reached a limit of water they had to shut down for the remainder of the month. I wound up staying at a flea bag motel with a sick looking green from algae swimming pool with several no swimming signs posted. It was just as bad in Oregon having to piss outside and not waste water flushing the toilet. Feeling unwanted and a PIA to family trying to save water I drove back to Phoenix. I detoured through Nevada as the water restrictions weren’t as bad. The only thing I noticed in Nevada was one had to ask for water in restaurants it was no longer automatically served. At a burger joint I had to buy water in half pint containers. I was in the middle of a child custody battle and had to stay out of state until our court date. I spent a couple days in Nevada avoiding Vegas as I had to pinch pennys to feed my lawyer. It was good to be home taking a long shower without having to turn water off and on and being able to flush the toilet after taking a leak. Arizona and California had several court battles in the 50 and 60s over Colorado River water with Mexico complaining about just receiving a trickle putting a hardship on their farms. OK guys caught myself keyboard rambling again, sorry I’ll shut up and go to bed now.
  9. It is my understanding from what I read on the net years ago. On the net so it has to be true!! I believe I also read about it back in the 70s in a book named Small Arms of the 20th Century. The Germans, Brits, Belgium and likely other pre war Europeans I don’t recall. Armed native sentries in their colonies with shotguns or converted shotguns rather than rifles. The native uneducated population didn’t know the difference and likely feared the guns more than the guards. Guess it might be a tactical advantage to bear shotguns that looked the same as the rifles they were conquered with. I know for certain the Brits converted many Enfields to single shot 410 shotguns. I saw a few years ago at a local gun show. The Brits used them in India and likely other colonies. It was a precautionary measure in case of a revolt or a pissed off lone gunman turned against their conquers. Loaded with birdshot the sentries couldn’t put up a fight from long distances. The theory goes as far back as the Romans. The Romans armed their native sentries with deliberately imbalanced spears that were pretty useless to throw. A bit off subject. The Romans also castrated native babies believing they would grow up to be scary looking large in stature guards. No worse I guess than Catholics doing the same to keep boy choir members their boyish voices.
  10. I recall reading something years ago. The Israelis tried to purchase a bunch but somebody likely Arab nations ran interference. Although Israel did obtain many they likely had to deal through a third party. I had an Israeli K98 years ago that was re-barreled to 308. The German and Nazi stampings were all over stamped with a checkerboard type stamp.
  11. This may have been the video. There a a few hours of video of the two inventors meeting. I see now the meeting was in Virginia not Frisco. The interesting remark clearly shows the advantage of Capitalism vs Communism. If I remember correctly as I watched years ago. Stoner says something to Kalashnikov about the 30rd mag. Myself I prefer the 20 over the 30 rd mag. Guess it has to do with my shooting my AR off wooden blocks. The blocks weren’t high enough to sneak a 30 rounder underneath. Sorry I didn’t mean to post the same video twice
  12. A remark Kalashnikov made to reporters after his meeting with Stoner. I’m paraphrasing, my design has been copied and millions produced worldwide. I had to barrow money to pay for my plane ticket Stoner flew in on his privately owned jet. The meeting was sponsored by the Smithsonian and I believe they met in San Francisco. I’ll see if I can find the video.
  13. I just went and looked $35 seems fair with Brownells getting about $170 + shipping but $12.95 shipping for the rental is BS. I didn’t follow up but I imagine they require a hefty deposit for the rental. Have you tried eBay or Amazon for used??
  14. You really know how to awaken our 20/20 hindsight.
  15. I need another firearm of any kind about as bad as another hole in my head. I’ve been wanting one of these for years. Perfect for deep concealment when my 38 snubby could cause some problems. About a year ago I freaked out a urologist when he saw my 38 under my belt. I also have a tiny Beretta 32 I can carry in my pocket but that pistol is near impossible to clear a jam. I had a double feed most likely caused by pocket lint. This pip squeak caught my eye after opening up an email link looking for ammo. Thanks to Uncle Joe I’ve been hoarding ammo and canned food. It’s a NAA 22 Mag 5 shot revolver. I really like the ability to fold the grip keeping it small in size although it’s a PIA closing it back up. The trigger pull is heavy as is cocking the hammer. Unfortunately with all my other aches, pains and getting old. I’m getting Rheumatoid Arthritis in my right shooting hand. So far my fingers aren’t crooked but my hand is weak. I was out of the FFL’s door with apx $320 invested. My FFL suddenly raised his $20 fee to 35 and he had no 22 WMR in stock. I have about a half box but it’s about 25 years old. I was surprised as it came with a metal locking case.
  16. I used to be a faithful follower of Tucker and Hannity. Lately I don’t watch much of the news as it only makes me angry. It started with Biden pulling out of Afghanistan. We don’t simply have a fool and a dim witted veep leading our country but millions of idiots that voted them in. Even worse are the people that know the truth about Biden but continue to lie and cover up for him. I don’t put anything past the Demoncrats especially those in Biden’s inner circle. Im worried about Clarence Thomas being in the hospital. Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery before somebody slips him a poison pill or injection. I can’t blame Jen Psaki for bailing out having to constantly lie to reporters. With the heat on Hunter I bet she fears being forced to continue to lie and cover up for him. Hopefully she can start sleeping at night soon with a clean conscience..I bet in about 3-4 years she is going to author a tell-all best seller providing she doesn’t die in a mysterious accident or questionable suicide. OOOPS!! There I go again, I better shut up before I write several paragraphs. In summary FORK BIDEN!!!
  17. I saw one years ago at a gun show. The vendor replaced it with a polished Kennedy half. He told us he drilled it out the inner portion and best I remember he said the rest of it came out easily.
  18. When I was in that room it only took me a few minutes to get into a fight with one of them. Hate to admit it, he knew karate and kicked the sh!t out of me. Before I had a real chance to fight back. Two huge and I do mean huge black sailors broke it up right after I was kicked in the nuts. Can’t say they don’t know how to fight, the fairy rapidly kicked me three times in my face. I sure wouldn’t want to be in combat with any of them.
  19. I believe there was also an off the record agreement that the CIA would stop trying to kill Castro.
  20. I still have a few bandoliers left. It’s corrosive so I avoided it.
  21. When I appeared for my last draft physical about 69. I was sent to a room with rejects after failing the hearing test and they assumed I was faking. After the first hard core junkies were released they started interviewing the queers. I’ve always wondered how many of them were faking. One in particular was wearing women’s panties. After watching the video I wonder if any of trans fairies are just putting on an act to avoid combat.
  22. It’s really not anything new. IRS has been paying cash rewards for years. I suspect the ATF ad was the dream child of a man hating woman in ATF mgmt.
  23. I still have plenty of 762X39. About 1991-2 bought a case of 1,000 for only $79.99 + sale tax. About a month or so later ATF shut him down. Never found out why but the rumor mill said he was arrested and all his ammo was confiscated. When I bought the 762 from him he was obviously drunk. I had plans the following payday to buy a thousand Norinco brass 223. I can’t recall the price but it was cheap.
  24. It’s somewhat reminiscent of the ill trained Eastern European conscripts forced to fight for Germany in WW2. Many coward down, retreated or surrendered at the first opportunity.
