Heard on the drive in that the supreme court struck down DC's ban on handguns. I figured the forum would be on fire! Everyone must be working harder than me... Knuckleheads on the radio refered to the 2nd as the "states rights to form a militia..."

I notice that it isn't a flat screen. Do they bounce when the vertical hold gets out of adjustment? I saw a gal once who was wearing a T-shirt with a picture of a TV that had the volume and channel controls strategically placed over each nipple. The caption said: "I'm perfectly adjusted, don't touch my knobs!"

There's a little more math to be done... That works out to approx about 1200 miles per day. At a 50MPH average that's driving round the clock! (or you could drive 100MPH for 12 hours with no breaks and have a little time for meals and sleep...) I think this would exceed the DOT safety limit... What does "80 team" mean? 80 other drivers to share the load/split the revenue? I'd ask a lot more questions and get everything in writing before you give up the old job.

Never owned one, but I've heard that when you drive by a repair shop your credit card is scanned and charged remotely. Parts ain't cheap, but they are supposed to drive nice.

I found a nice ribbon of clay in a riverbank a few miles away and thought about taking the kids down this afternoon to scoop some up. I thought if they made something I'd try to fire it for them. I did this years ago with some natural clay I found. Just made a cheesy little pinch pot, and it seemed really fragile once it dried. I buried it in the coals in the fireplace and let it get red hot, and once it cooled it seemed appreciably stronger. I was just wondering if there were any other options. Didn't get there today anyhow, frustrated myself trying to solder instead.

Anybody know how hot an oven gets on the self cleaning cycle? Hot enough to fire a clay piece?

Somebody here posted a whole back about wanting to put a whiteline spacer recoil pad on a project. I meant to PM them, but never got around to it and now I can't remember who it was. I don't know how fancy your project is, but I have one I'll give you for free if you are interested. It's pictured below on the Swede carbine, second from bottom. I replaced it with another pad, and it just sits in a drawer. The screw holes are a little ragged, and the edges a little checked with age, but as I found out if you grind to fit it will probably clean up pretty nicely. Let me know if you, or anybody else is interested. P.S., this is the "before" photo of the Swede facelift project I have posted on previously.

I bought a Springfield 1903 repro "C" stock from Boyds several years ago, and the inletting for the part of the buttplate that wraps around the heel of the stock was off center to the point where I had about 1/4" excess wood on one side, but would have had to grind away 1/8" of metal just to make it flush on the other! I was trying to restore a sporterized National Match Rifle and considering what the course checkered buttplates with the trapdoor go for there was no way I would have used that stock. (Saw one on ebay go for about $200 recently! That's just the buttplate gentlemen...) The good news was that they were happy to refund my money. Well, maybe not happy, but pleasant and hassle-free.

Regarding number 1, do you meet their published pre-requisites? I've never bought from them, but they don't sell to anybody off the street. You have to be military, or affiliated with a CMP club of some sort. I haven't checked in a while, but look at their website to make sure you qualify to purchase before you make a trip.

Good stuff, thanks! I like that. I have bought a few of the longer release buttons that replace the military piece and remain in the trigger guard housing, but it appears that one uses the standard military recessed release button. I might have to try that now.

I didn't even catch the Cinco de Mayo date, that's both my Dad's and my mother-in-law's birthday too. Pa will be 79 this year...
