  1. Karl, me and the wife both got the Trump shot several months ago at a local vaccine clinic set up in one of the larger churches in a nearby town, both doses of the Phizer the recommended time apart. First thing I need to say is I couldn’t be prouder of the young people they had helping , they were all either Army or Air Force reserve. All were very respectful, very kind and extremely helpful. I experienced zero side effects both times, the wife said she “thought “ it made her sleepy both times…. Neither one of us even had a sore arm from it. About three weeks ago I was unknowingly exposed to the virus. A friend’s truck broke down about an hour away and I ended up spending several hours in my truck with him running back and forth working on it and chasing parts and so on . The next day he gets to feeling bad a couple days later he test positive. Not long afterward I started feeling bad, and tested negative. The Doctor at the urgent care told me I had it but he hadn’t seen a positive test in better than a week. I had no energy was short winded and no sense of taste or smell coughing….and ended up in bed for several days for the first time in my life, really felt rough. My wife ended up with the same symptoms except she never lost her taste or smell , she tested positive, and the four women she works with in a small office all came down with the same symptoms. Two of them had been vaccinated, they tested negative the unvaccinated tested positive …… it’s crazy. All I know is I’m vaccinated and pretty sure I still got it, my wife and I are both knocking on 60 and so far we don’t regret the shot. We both figure at our age it’s going to have to hurry to be a problem.I do believe I had it but I also believe because I was vaccinated I didn’t get nearly as sick with it but I don’t know that for certain. 1911’s are the best but it’s a dog’s world they only allow cat’s because they are fun to chase

  3. Nice job ! That stock turned out sharp
  4. My county here in Missouri passed a county wide Second Amendment Protection act some months back, the ATF is now refusing to “service “(their words) this county and a couple others that passed similar regs. According to the county prosecutor’s office they have refused the use of they’re ballistics lab and or records on some cases so far and refused to send bomb squad/ explosives experts to help on a couple cases one involving some old demilitarized artillery shells and another one involving a dummy grenade. In both cases as I understand it the city cops called the ATF and were told to deal with it them selves, our county deputies were sharp enough to know what they had but the city boys called Fort Lenard Wood for CYA and the Army sent some boys over. Our governor is a former county sheriff and is not running again so don’t know what he’ll do but our AG has his eyes higher up the ladder and seems pretty conservative for a politician for what that’s worth these days….we’ll see but either way you can bet it’s going to be a pissing match that costs millions.
  5. I was hearing yesterday that they paid the ransom to get the pipeline back up and running BUT they thought the hackers were moving to slowly and used they’re own backups to do it.... ( WTF)!! Anybody else hear that? I’m thinking that was just a dumbass attack by someone in the media because it makes zero sense.
  6. Hail sucks , sorry to see and here about all your troubles. Wish I was where I could come give you all a hand.
  7. Thanks Az bout what I figured.
  8. Yella squash is darn hard to beat we used to eat a fair amount of butternut squash fried too , just depended on what was putting on in the garden at the time. Zek I’ve never had the chance to try real Italian food, always thought I’d like it given a chance but I’m going to hunt a jar of that sauce
  9. Yep Zek slices about a quarter inch thick. Best I remember she would cut them in half long ways rake the seeds out then slice them with the hide still on em so she could hang on to em then cut the hide off , dip them in egg and roll them in cornmeal, salt and pepper then fry em to golden brown. I do remember liking them fried in butter best.
  10. Man-a-live that’s a good looking patch of dirt. Been working mine 30 years and it don’t look that good!
  11. Seems like I remember seeing parts kits for that years ago in shotgun news?
  12. Yes sir both fine ideas and more than one Busch light can has given its life to keep my Gleaner combine in the field, but come to think of it they actually died twice on the job.
  13. I may have two black eyes in the morning after just smacking my self in the forehead and asking myself why I didn’t think of that. Heck of a good plan!
  14. Good info thanks, I’ve seen em but never dealt with em
  15. Well Az I’ll tell ya what , Arizona gave me a bigger fooling then any of the forty-eight when I started truckin over the road. I was pushing 50 and literally had been nowhere but had no real interest in seeing the desert after watching John Wayne all my life it was a place to avoid like the clap. I’ll never forget how shocked I was heading west into Flagstaff for the first time and seeing a snow covered mountain peak for miles....hell that wasn’t in any of them movies , I just knew I was seeing things. If I’d of found Arizona as a pup we might be neighbors. I sure like the looks of a whole lot of that country, mainly the lack of people in a lot of it and Williams always laid to suit me just driving through. But I’m wondering if a man was to buy some ground out there do you get the water rights with most of it? Around here water and mineral rights come with a place but I’ve heard that’s not the case out there ??? But don’t know. And if you do own a place how deep do you have to drill the average water well and is it good sweet water. Water is good and sweet here , hard as a anvil but good and my wells are all less than 300 ft deep. Drilled one down in the bottom of a deep holler a few years ago and hit water at 15 feet but went 160 and set the pump at 120 . Always wondered about water wells out there
  16. We had a freeze warning here last night and another one tonight. Don’t know what the temp got down to but we had a fair amount of wind last night and things did alright but it’s clear as a bell tonight and no wind at all you can hear the hoot owls and coyotes really telling it so probably won’t get as lucky this go around.
  17. Good for you Jerry! Kinda figured you had and glad it suits you
  18. I’ve been lucky I guess but I’ve got several dozen fruit trees I’ve mail ordered but they all came from Stark Brothers nursery up at Louisiana,Mo. They’ve been in business since God was a pup. Missouri Department of Conservation also sells native to Missouri tree seedlings for cheap to residents. I planted a hundred mull berry trees from them a few years back think they were 50 cents a piece would like to put some more of them out but they haven’t offered them the last few years.
  19. Looking great Tony. And yep Jerry heard that my entire life and sounds like maybe more than one around that wood pile. But what outfit are you all talking about ordering from ,it doesn’t ring a bell with me.
  20. I do like apricots but don’t have any. Was thinking I might try to put me a few out next year. Got a paw paw patch down along the creek that work on me the way apricots do you , it’s a good thing the coon’s and such work on em as hard as they do or there wouldn’t be anything left of me. Got the limbs all picked up out of the yard yesterday evening so I’d have that done cause need to mow for the first time in the next few days. You can plan on grass cutting from a week before Easter to a week before Thanksgiving around here. That reminds me I bought a new mower last year and need to order a second set of blades to have on hand. I usually mow with dull blades the first time or two to grind up what the freezing and thawing has pushed up that I find the hard way.
  21. My plumb trees are blooming and the pears are just the same as , so it’ll be a miracle if all my fruit trees don’t get bit. May try to get my seedlings planted in the basement later today if I get some of my other stuff done

    Inflation

Yep I’m seeing lots of red iron building’s being put up around. With 7/16 OSB going for $35.00...... how could you not come out ahead using steel.
  23. I figure that gumbo would ball up in that hair and they’d Peter out before the first row was done myself. But my yak know how is nothin and then you throw the whole Texas deal in there and didn’t know what you might not have to shave your yaks in Texas to get em to stand the heat but then you’d have to worry about sunburning your yak and I can’t imagine that would ever be good and wouldn’t think you’re neighbors would tolerate yaks with a mo-hawk that would keep the sun off of their backs and the gumbo from balling up their running gears. Probably gonna take some calves to town Friday so I’ll see what they run through the sale barn , been a while since I saw them run a real good broke water Buffalo thru though.
  24. I like Celebrities here too, always have some. Cant say I have ever ate a home grown tomato I didn’t like but my favorite is a big ole rough beef steak. Be the second week of May before you can stop worrying about frost here and stuff won’t take off real good for another week or two after that. Rain is back here too, been keeping an eye out for you a good broke water Buffalo, ain’t havin much luck but if you’re in the market for a yak I believe I saw some a couple counties to west the other day.
