  1. I’m glad mine are already in the freezer, be great for letting them hang but to miserable for me to get em to that point unless a man was a way more hungry than I am
  2. I was just thinking about you and FC a little while ago, I stopped in Wally World to grab oil and filter for mommas rig and they had garden seed out, first I’ve seen this year . It would take a box car load of dynamite to put a seed in the ground here the grounds froze so hard. But I was thinking you guys might be able to start putting your early stuff in before long. First thing we get out is taters on St. Patties day if possible then a few cold crops later and last frost around here is around the 10th of May but I usually just wait till first of June to put out tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and the like as the ground don’t get warm enough for stuff to really do good till then here. But me and my old cows could sure do with a dose of that global warming.
  3. I ain’t eat a eggplant in years but when Mom was living we eat a lot of them rolled in egg and cornmeal then fried. I got pretty bad about just peeling and chunking up yellow squash and dumping some ranch dressing on them uncooked I can’t really tell a difference between them and cucumbers if you catch them before they need butchered . I had the blight in my tomatoes last year the worst I ever saw , just keeps getting worse ,even had it in my containers with new potting soil, that I’d hoped would put an end to it. I’m curious to see how my strawberries do next year. Ive Always heard to mow them then mulch em good with straw before winter. Never did and they always make . This fall the cows got out and eat em off at ground, so I went ahead and mulched them. We’ll see... hope I don’t end up with a better wheat crop than strawberries.
  4. Looks fun , you all work them up or use em for coyote bait ? Is that a Henry on that black hog?
  5. Hope you get the picture thing figured out I’d like to see your rifle, but I want you to educate me on posting pictures.
  6. I think you got a sound plan Jerry but if ya want I’ll Mail ya my heat sink it’s been to a bunch of places but I don’t believe it’s been to Texas yet
  7. Get her did ! Glad it worked out. 300 Savage and a small ring go together like cobbler and ice cream.
  8. Sorry Az I really do hate it for you and do hope things start looking up for you.
  9. I was able to tap mine but I used carbon taps it took 3 or 4 per hole to get it done and I broke more than one but the carbon taps were easy to shatter and clean out . Sounds scarier than it was it really wasn’t near as big a deal as I thought and for me personally I was just more comfortable doing it without heat, I usually make an ass out of stuff in a big way with heat.
  10. After looking at Brownells site my memory may be wrong don’t know but they’re add for a solid carbide bit sounds real familiar about 03 receivers and harder....just doesn’t look like what I thought I remember it looking like
  11. I’ve found several that were so hard on the rear bridge that regular carbide/cobalt bits would not touch them even after grinding way deeper than normal surface hardening goes. I ordered a special bit Brownells advertised just for this problem, it looks more like a square sided easy-out than a drill bit. Been 15 or more years ago and it was $20.00-$30.00 then , don’t know if they still offer it or not , and I was convinced it was not going to work especially after seeing it didn’t even look like a traditional bit but it worked. Good luck
  12. Election integrity has to be restored, without it we have “this” and “this”will lead to nothing but terrible trouble . If I believed Biden had legitimately won I wouldn’t like it and I would be sick about it . But I don’t believe he won , and not liking it and being sick about it doesn’t begin to describe my feelings.
  13. Tried a few times to pm you but don’t believe it’s working. Best I can get is FC can’t receive messages deal that pops up by your name when I hit send
  14. Roy Blunt of Mo. Has been a disappointment for years not as big a rhino as Romney but close enough he needs culled. Then we have Josh Hawley. Boys do not be fooled by this snake! I’ve watched this cull he’s rotten to the core and job #1 for him is to be president. Missouri constitution states the attorney general must reside in the state capital. After being elected to AG Hawley refused to move to the capital claimed the constitution was outdated and we weren’t in horse and buggy days anymore. Not enough Democrats in Mo. to do anything about it and the rest of the GOP just looked the other way. While campaigning for AG claimed he wasn’t the average politician just climbing the ladder and was only in it for the good of the people.... blah blah puke then as soon as he saw an opening to run for Senator he was on it like a duck on a June bug , didn’t even finish his first term as AG and spent most of what he did serve campaigning for senate He pushed for big stimulus checks with Bernie one day then backs Trump the next. SCREW THE GOP
  15. Storm was 14 years ago first day of December, seems like yesterday somehow. Yep still drivin but no more over the road never did like being away from the farm. We’ve pretty much dodged the virus so far one son in law tested positive but never felt to bad just couldn’t smell or taste them and their 5 kids just came out of quarantine Monday, some other distant kin have had a dose but so far we’ve not lost any family to the chink stink. Did ya leave your hog gun 8 MM or did ya change it up some
  16. I’m about as far from computer savvy as they come . Don’t have a freaking clue.... but do you guys use anything like DuckDuckGo and signal and theses types of things and if so any suggestions?
  17. Good to hear from ya Jerry ,hope all’s well with you and yours. What kind of project you workin on ?
  18. Mark Levin in my opinion is all mouth and no ass, can’t stand his whiny pissing and moaning north east accent it’s worse than fingernails on a black board. Trey Gowdy is another that likes the sound of his own voice way to much to suit me. Both are talented word smith’s and both are just as worthless as tits on a chicken all words no action . Great for being a lawyer or politician both of which need a bounty on their sorry heads.
  19. I put my stuff inside 7ml Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers then use a food saver to vacuum the air out before heat sealing the bags then put them down in galvanized garbage cans to keep rodents out. I like fruit jars and oxygen absorbers a lot too , but worry about the jars breaking in certain situations . Mormons claim the above methods will make pasta beans and rice ......keep for decades. Salt, sugar , honey and maple syrup are considered forever foods and aren’t supposed to require any special packaging to last
  20. Yes sir that they will ! As a young teenager I was working for a neighbor one summer and he had bought a new piece of hay equipment, part of the deal was the dealer had to deliver it, mount it and make all adjustments where it was ready to work. The dealer had mostly Mennonite employees and one delivered it. We worked for hours in the sun trying to get that thing right and a couple hours into it that Mennonite mashed the hell out of his thumb trying to beat a pin in with a three pound hammer. He cussed in English and German both at the same time using combinations that I’d never dreamed of , I mean he was good at it and I got tickled and got to laughing about it, made him even madder. I apologized and explained I wasn’t laughing because he mashed his thumb but because I never dreamed that they even new those kind of words let alone would dare even whisper them let alone let rip the way he was . He laughed harder than me then and said “ oh hell we ain’t nothin but people too”
  21. Lots of Mennonite’s in this part of the world Doc, they call a lot of they’re business’s Dutch Country this that and the next thing. They make a very good living marketing they’re goods this way, particularly to the tourist heading to the lake.
