1 of the big galvanized garbage cans with a lid (mouse proof) will hold a 50 pound bag of oats a 50 pound bag of rice a 25 pound bag of pinto beans 5 pounds of pasta and 1 pound box of salt and not much more. I bought my oats , beans and pasta from the Dutch store but Sams was way cheaper on the rice

Ralph I hope you get some great ideas cause I’m kind of in the same boat. I’ve got several actions that are D&T , trued up polished and the bolts done, ready to go. My biggest problem is fear of getting something to feed so I tried 6MM, 257 Bob,7x57, 6.5 X55 and 25-06 in them all before starting on them and what fed best in a particular action was what I planned to build. But I already have at least one of each. So the excitement is not what it was , wish I could decide what I want now.

Buddy of mine was telling me about watching a deal a few days ago about the CEO of one of the mega corporations that owns some of the ammunition and components companies. Said this fella claimed they were turning it out as fast as possible, that there were along the lines of 7 million new gun owners just this last year and if each of those only bought 2 boxes of 50 rounds , which is probably very conservative that would be seven hundred million rounds on top of the “panic/hording” buying that’s going on. Won’t say it sounds good but it does sound reasonable. I know folks that have never owned 2 boxes of shells of any kind that are stocking up and others that have never reloaded a single round of any kind and probably never will that have and are buying equipment and components . I’m just as guilty, I bought a shot shell reloader and components that will more than likely be sold as new in the box after I kick and they have my sale

I’ve been waiting for that sight to go on sale somewhere. I really like my eotech but the shake awake and battery life on the sig really interest me . I know a few people that have them and all of them are happy with them.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. We’re driving a couple hours to the in-laws, usually 40 or so packed into their place for it but some of the family has decided to do something different this year, I don’t blame anyone for being cautious we all need to make that choice for ourselves. I’ve reloaded center fire rifle and pistol ammo for decades, but never shotgun shells. I bought a Lee load all 2 for equipment, and have ordered a Lyman manual. I’d really appreciate any recommendations you all have. I’m not much of a shotgunner but times being what they are thought it might be prudent to get the makings and roll a few to get educated in case I’d need to at some time.

It’s a hiccup deal with the feds ( form 4473 and the call into the NICS ) I think it has to do with the volume of calls they are taking right now . Missouri is a no B.S. state as far as permits or waiting periods none of that nonsense here. We’ve always been open carry and passed a CCW law 20 odd years ago. That was supposed to be off the books no records no where of who had one. That turned out to be a lie and after the lying politicians and lying state highway patrol were found out there was the usual uproar of let’s burn em at the stake and put what’s left in prison forever. Best I remember all those big dogs retired fat and happy on a big state pension. But we did go to constitutional carry with the option to get a state issued CCW if you want.

I’ve bought several guns over the years and have never been delayed until today, first time for everything I reckon. I used a new to me place ....and they had the call on speakerphone so I heard it all. Today is the 9th and the woman said they would be back in touch on or before the 15th. When did they change it to 6 days??? I thought it was 3.

I’ve not really been looking around here but I had to go into our closest little small town Walmart a few days back and was surprised to see the gun rack full, rim fire, center fire and shotguns all long guns of course. Little to no rifle ammo but lots of shotgun fodder mostly light stuff. Stopped in at Orscheln farm and home across the road from Walmart and they had a fair amount of ammunition not everything but a few boxes of most and even bricks of 22

This information needs to be on billboards from coast to coast and border to border, I was completely blindsided, didn’t have a clue.
