Old military rifles are alot of fun to sporterize and shoot. Imagine a 80yr old+ gun taking a fine deer in December. Your mind goes back to when you were "building" it up from a rusty, dusty, broken down piece of wood and metal and turned it into a great looking, precise shooting tool. It never gets old. Who cares if you could have bought a new rifle for the money you put into this old relic. You did it how you saw it in your mind. Thats all that counts. More than likely it shoots better that a new one anyway.
