I hate the bayonet personally. It's ugly. However, it does make a great kick-stand at the range. I don't get the survivalist mentality. I really don't think we will see anything like that ever.

I had my C&R once before. I plan on getting it again. The paper work is in the mail as we speak. I don't see but a few distributors listing M44's. I do see quite a few 91/30's.

They finally have the trigger listed on midwayusa but not in stock. It is also listed on grafs.com as W/O safety. If this is the case they have really missed the mark.

What is going to be the expected going rate for them when they come in? I have a hard time believing there is a shortage of these rifles considering the number of these manufacture. Did they just stop importing so many? I'm not preparing for when the SHTF, I just want to get a couple more shooters. I don't see anyone in their right mind paying over $100 for one like I see them selling for on some of the auction sites.

I haven't bought any of these guns in a while. I had 4 and 3 were badly damaged in a flood except for one that was still packed in cosmoline. I'm wanting to buy a couple more and I don't see the M44's anywhere. I see a few 91/30's for sale.

I may add the notch or just stone stone the extractor back. I've read of people doing both.

Numrich sells 8MM stepped barrels in the white for $99. I may go with this one. I would go with .308 but I love odd ball calibers. I don't like running with the pack.

Sounds like I need to get my C&R renewed and order 2-3 more Mosins.
-
I couldn't find anything there. 8MM isn't popular enough I guess.

Where can I find a barrel threaded and short chambered for 8MM Mauser. I would like to replace the barrel on my YUGO M48 and would like a sporter contour.

I still have the gun. I will have to dig it out when I go back to my Parents. I haven't used it in a long time since it was flooded. If I remember correctly the sear worked as a bolt stop and I had to remove the trigger to get the bolt out. Post a picture of the conversion I lost them also in the flood. I'm sure its the one I did because I searched the internet long and hard and never found anything. Mosin Nagants would be great hunting rifles if it wasn't for the safety position. I wish Timney or Bold would take the Idea and refine it. I know its possible to do because I made it work.

This is a very old post. I did this back in about 2004 and posted it on another forum. I did modify a bold trigger to work on a mosin. I made a new sear that was taller. The sear did work as a bolt stop. I did shoot it some but never really used the gun. I never could get the trigger/safety to fail, but I never would trust it. It was a good idea. It just needed more refinement.

I have been checking their site 5 times a day for the last 2 weeks waiting for this trigger. Then I read the forum and its there. I ordered it as soon as I got home from work.
