My Weatherby-wanna-be (but really a Howa) Vanguard in .270. Ugly, but accurate as hell.

I'm part of Samaritans Ministries. I really like it and it opts me out.

Again I say we just leave the flags at half staff until this nightmare is out of office.

Or upside down.

In Russia there is a Christian Revival occuring but our media refuses to report it.
Over 70% of the people are now Christians. (Hard core bible believers)
They're not the 501C3 Christians we have in the USA but real bible believing Christians!!!
Even Putin has found Christ!
They are rebuilding the Churches that were torn down during the rein of the USSR...
Interesting. I'd like to know what your source is. It wouldn't surprise me that the US media won't report it.

You might try micarta. It is laminatable and very durable. http://www.texasknife.com/vcom/product_info.php?cPath=587_826_841_611&products_id=1337

Well look at that, most of them have a "D" by their name.
Gun owners who don't look beyond the party they and their parents have always voted for deserve what they get. Unfortunately, they will drag the rest of us down with them.

My go-to round for the .270 is 45 grains of RamShot Hunter pushing a Hornady 150 gr. spitzer. With a 130 gr. bullet, that same powder starting load ranges between 49.3 and 51.3 (49.3 for the Sierra SBT, 50.9 for the Barnes TSX, and 51.3 for the Hornady SST).
By the way, I shoot a Weatherby Vanguard .270 which is really a Howa, which I believe is the same as the S&W. -
You can use cyanoacrylate. As a carver and woodworker, here is what I would do: go to hobby shop and buy a bottle of the really thin cyano along with a spray bottle of instaset or "Zipkicker" . Clean up the surface of the crack on both sides by sanding and use of acetone to clean it up further (oil is not an impediment). Attempt to draw the crack together as best you can with some clamps. Now run a generous bead of the cyano on one side of the crack, let it penetrate, then kick it with the spray stuff. Do the same on the other side. It works well, and will stabilize the crack, but will probably not completely hide the crack.

Reminds me of the Reagan joke about sending bombers to nuke Russia. That one nearly caused WW-III
... Which makes me think of McCain's parody of the Beach Boys: "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" which also led to some saber rattling.

Obama's toys.

...if I had been born ten years ago and didn't know what freedom looked like when I was young.
Bingo!

I'd feel a little bit more like celebrating freedom if...

Obama cares nothing about the Constitution. For him and his supporters, such as the bimbo Pelosi, the end justifies the means.

ATI stocks can be warped and difficult to fit. I have had two different forearms for my No.4 Mk.1. One was straight the other I had to take a Dremel with sanding drum to in order for the barrel trough to be straight enough so that it didn't put pressure on the barrel. The stock I had for my MN was a great fit. Lots of variance in the product, but I have to say that they are very durable if you want a knock-about stock.

I'm not Catholic, but that was inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations! Longevity in marriages is a rare thing today. My wife and I just celebrated our 35th anniversary, and we too are having a blast.

I have Hubers on my #4 Mk1 and Mosin Nagant M38. They are a big improvement over issued triggers. The break much crisper and cleaner. If you order from Brownells and don't like it you can always return for a refund. A good shoulder pad might be a better choice. It will dampen recoil on any rifle. This might help overall.
Good Luck Ralph
Thanks. I have put on a thicker shoulder pad.
How hard were those triggers to replace?

I looked at the Canwest triggers. They look great but are fairly expensive and they say they need to be installed by a gunsmith (which I am not).
-
Are they a real improvement? I have a bad right shoulder, and that coupled with a long trigger pull on my No. 4 Mk. 1 is causing me to have some problems out on the range. I've never had a "flinch factor" before, but if a trigger can have a smoother pull to it, maybe I can do a little better than I have been. I know the rifle is zeroed because my son-in-law does well with it. $80 doesn't seem too steep.

Things are indeed bad, but there is no limiting God. America has been through two "great awakenings", and there could be a third. Consider Nineveh, the wickedest nation on the face of the earth during the time of Jonah, yet they repented before God.
II Chronicles 7:14- "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.".

What a beauty! I was intrigued by the cold bluing while on the lathe.

I flew to Omaha for my middle girl's graduation from high school. She's an agnostic. There was no invocation, a fight in the parking lot, a friend of hers that sounded like a girl, but is a guy, and 3 classmates not at grad because they broke into the school several times. Here at the Atlanta airport I'm sitting across from a black woman who has switched boobs twice for her baby in plain sight. Two days ago I read that Tom White, head of Voice of the Martyrs was implicated in sexual issues with a ten year old girl, and killed himself. We had a 12 year old girl, runaway, show up on our doorstep. What the heck is this, the decay of America?
I Timothy 4:1, II Timothy 3:1-5.
I teach in a small Christian school (about 200 students). Every day I rub shoulders with student who love God, love their fellow man, are respectful to me and to their parents, and who take citizenship seriously. What's more, I get to teach every one of them gun safety and shooting at least once in their academic career! I tell them that they are the hope of the future...

They don't look like "Asians" to me. Look like A-rabs.

Classic "safari" looking rifle. Beautiful.

I agree with all that you gentlemen have written above, but we live in a terminal world. All we can be is salt and light in a society which has turned its back on God.. We maintain the ancient borders and stand our ground. To some we will be an aroma of life, to others an aroma of death... it just goes with the territory.
The Prince of This World holds sway over most of its populace, it is our job to be sweetly reasonable where we can be, but it is the Holy Spirit's job to do the freeing from Satan's thrall.
