  1. All the Muslim terrorist crap would end tomorrow if it was announced that the next incident would result in a bomb loaded with pig grease detonating over Mecca. My son said that when he did his tours in Iraq, they made it known that all their rounds touched pork before being loaded.
  2. Well, the US is on the same "enlightened" trend that the Europeans have been on for the last half century. Unless we recognize that "borders, language, and culture" are indeed worth protecting, we will be the same as they. Progressivism says. "so what". Hell, even our president would probably say, "so what".
  3. That's a nice rack, and looks like he'd be young enough to be good eater. In spite of all the hours I put in out in the field, and all the calling I did, I didn't see a legal moose this year. I was really hoping to see how my .303 would do compared to my old .30.06. Maybe next year. Did you get him here on the pen, or elsewhere?
  4. Once the greatest country on earth, now a pitiful, socialistic loser. "Bama would love us to emulate them.

    Emails

I am having the same problem. Very embarrassing, especially when I have given my e-mail to parents of my students. Is their software compatible with a Mac that will deal with a "trojan horse"?
  6. The media is fanning the flame on this story. Without their hype this would be a non-issue. The media are hypocrites of the highest order.
  7. Sounds like her "life mate" is the one who had the "nut job".
  8. I had my eye on a jeep that was parked in a lot on the Spur Highway across from Lucky Raven. I was waiting for the price to go down. Somebody else got it. My thought was that it would be a good rig to navigate Mystery Creek Road all the way to Chickaloon Bay, so I could molest the ducks and geese that stage there. Maybe next year...
  9. Beautiful work! The rifles look superb. I have had good luck with Boyds, and have been pleased with the stocks I have put on both a Mosin and an Enfield.
  10. The main fly in the ointment of this scenario is that the minorities and the Muslims (who may not be minorities for long) will not prescribe to the inhibition of births, feminism, nor the lack of importance of the family. So the very folks the Progressives have fought so hard to protect and propagate, would be their undoing (and of course, the rest of us WASPs would have already been undone). The irony of it all is that Hispanics do not prescribe at all to the Progressive agenda of white guilt, free sex, anti-war, statism, tree hugging, etc. The liberals are only courting them for their potential vote by promising legality and legitimacy if they support them. But once they have legitimacy, the Hispanics will abandon the libs like a hot potato.
  11. Jason- I don't know what model I have. On the right side it has the following: MA LITHGOW SMLE II 1941 On the left it just has: MA55 I love shooting this gun, though I am not yet getting good groupings. I was comparing the action to that of my son's Swedish mauser, and it is so much smoother. I will have to keep a look out for stripper clips.
  12. Thanks Bob! Yes, that is what is happening. Guess I need to watch how I load the clip. Do they make stripper clips for LEs?
  13. Well I recently bought a .303 after looking for one for a while. My father had one when I was very young which he got from Montgomery Ward. I took it deer hunting as a teenager, but never connected (mostly because I didn't know what I was doing). The model I have is a Lithgow SMLE made in 1944. It also says MA 55 near the safety. The rifle appears to have been sporterized as it had a shortened forearm, though it did still have an upper hand piece atop the barrel by the ramp type sight. I replaced the forearm with a new walnut one from Boyds, and will probably put on a new matching butt stock as well, though I will reshape it in the traditional, small pistol grip Enfield style, and will keep the the brass butt plate. The receiver and the bridge over the magazine was tapped for a scope, so I ordered a mount from Midway and put a 3x9 Redfield on it. I was surprised that the 3/8" dovetail mount used rings made for a .22/air rifle! I like this rifle far more than my Mosin Nagant which seems cold and hard compared to the smoothness and shootability of the Enfield. She is a lady. OK, after all that lead-in, my question is: is it common for the magazines on these SMLEs to jam and not feed correctly? I had to stop several times while sighting the rifle in in order to unjam the rounds. Perhaps not all magazines are created equal? Am I loading the rounds incorrectly? Thanks for any input you may provide.
  14. Why are we defending them? I believe the simple answer is OIL. Even though 'Bams talks about weaning America from petroleum, the president makers, such as Soros, are deep into oil riches. They just want it on their terms. So they will gladly offer American military strength to defend a backward and despotic little kingdom such as Saudi Arabia in order to protect their riches, and ultimately their control over us. I have heard it said that Jewish or Christian US personnel were not allowed to worship in chapel services while in SA, but had to be flown to carriers to do so. Islam is very restrictive towards other religions, placing them in dhimmi status, while at the same time taking great advantage of religious freedoms in countries they immigrate to. When will Americans come to their senses? My link
  15. You are right Karl. Saudi Arabia is where the Wahab sect originated and prospers. It is the most anti-western, anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, anti-woman religious sect in the world. Probably the richest too, since it is state sponsored. It is spreading like wild fire throughout the Muslim world through the medium of the madras (religious schools). Saudi Arabia also sponsors schools in the US. Though true that 'Bams kowtowed to the king, Bush was tight with them as well (though I don't think he ever bowed to one). Scary, isn't it? And AzRednek- why did 'Bams send the bust of Winston Churchill BACK to England? How strange is that? With this administration what was wrong is right/what was down is up/what was white is .... well... um, gray.
  16. Can you imagine the unmitigated gall of these people; to want to build a mosque where adherents of their faith claimed the lives of thousands of people? Not only that, but they want to name it after a region they captured when they invaded Spain: Cordoba. And NY politicians are ready to embrace this idea! Liberalism in its naked idiocy. All one needs to do is see where accepting Islam and its 7th century value system has gotten Europe. All I can say is they better build their mosque airplane proof or they may get a taste of their own medicine (pilotless of course).
  17. Man, you must live in a wind tunnel! I haven't seen many calm days on the pen this summer, but I haven't had any wind here in Kasilof strong enough to blow off my grill. Maybe plant some trees!
  18. In regards to the homeless, the Field of Dreams principle applies: "Build it and they will come." In other words, wherever infrastructure is in place or built to accommodate the homeless, more will come.
  19. I'm surprised you didn't know about the Timney triggers, I found out about them on this site! Here's their link: My link The ATI scope mounts for MNs come with a funky tap and screw on bolt handle. They are all over eBay: My link I had to cut my scope mount back a ways to accomodate The bolt handle I had made, which came from this guy: My link
  20. Thanks. I have a few more things I want to do, such as a better scope than the Simmons, a Timney trigger, perhaps slightly shorten and re-crown the end of the barrel. I am leaving on the iron sights until I decide for sure about the barrel. Surprisingly, the MN doesn't kick any harder than my Winchester Model 70 .30.06 even though it doesn't have a butt pad, while the Winny does. One thing I really like about the MNs is the price of ammo.
  21. It was made in '42. Shoots accurately, and it was fun to build it into what I wanted it to be. The stock is a Boyds. I had the bolt done by the guy from eBay. The scope mount is an ATI, but I had to cut it back to accomodate the bolt handle.
  22. I don't know you but I can sure feel your pain through your words. I can't imagine your grief. Please hang in there and find continued purpose in life as I am sure there are those who love you and need you. I too will be praying for you.
  23. Mrs. LaBonte's letter is well written and accurate. The people who passed through Ellis island and other ports of entry for LEGAL immigration were more than happy to leave their flags and governments behind and embrace America, no matter what it took. What's more, they wanted their children to be Americans. Not to say that they didn't celebrate the "old country" every now and again, but most held no illusions that they had left something better. Today I saw our president apologize to the president of Mexico for the actions of Arizona. I saw the president of Mexico assert that America was mistreating his citizens on American soil... well, if they are Mexican citizens, what the hail are they doing in America if their country is so fair and good? Further, would Americans have rights even anywhere close to Mexican illegals if we were caught illegally on Mexican soil? And how about that under-secretary of state over in China apologizing to the freaking Chinese about American human rights "abuses". What a mad house we are living in! Does anyone have a count-down of the time left?
