tulsa gun show still going strong...looks like a big turnout...ammo in short supply dealers saying ARABIAN countrys buying all the 7.62x39 they can get....very little for sale ..even .223 was double in price.. looks like some people plan on shooting at each other for years ..

been setting here reading some other sites and i keep seeing the same thing in all of them..i see the guys asking about building a mauser sporter and just getting blasted by some of the group..and no its not the FAMOUS other site..but sites that claim to be gunsmith sites..the advice is always to take it to a smith or please leave the vaulable war relic alone...most of these posters just want to learn what it takes to build a good usable rifle.....buying a used milsurp and working it over is a time proven place to start..i"m glad this site is up and running and good advice can be found here....and that this is at top of page Turning Junk into Things of Beauty so please lets give these new guys all the help we can...let them know they can ask those dumb questions that we all have had to ask at some point...

many ways to skin a cat as they say i have a 12 x 36 but i don"t put anything threw the headstock....i thread every thing between centers...so it can be done on a mini IF bed is long enough.... on the corelite stocks i drill small holes in the webbing to hold the bedding compound better....some people even thread wire through the holes..

MARKTX it"s a 1# weaver base mounted with 8-32 screws...just assemby the base and sidemount with the scope .... clamp it on ,move it around till the scopes is were its to your liking mark holes ,drill.tap....gun and mount is sprayed with duracoat matte black

i have bought 5 boyds stocks and mostly there inletting is very loose..i ordered a dakota will in laminate. last oct. finally got it in jan. but inletting was great so i ordered a enfield stock for a .45 acp project i"m on..

one thing to watch is were you place your name ,,,it use to be last name first in one spot then first name first in the next place ...this will delay you app.. i know several guys who made this mistake..

slightly off topic but i really must say how pleased i have been with the reamer coop...it has more than payed back the 30/06 i sent in...mike does a great job getting them out... a 7 x 57 sound nice on one of these

your right about the rem. takeoff barrels on e-bay ...i was getting barrels this time last year for $20.00 --$25.00 now i see them going for $50.00-and up
