Hi guys, it`s me again. I was shooting the Rem JSPFN 458 dia 405g bullets over 34g of Reloder 7 out of my originable M1873 TD & it is very accreate out to 200yds with this recipe. I can`t find the Rem`s anywere so I`m going to try some Oregon Trail Laser hard cast 459 dia 405g bullets in it. My question is, can I use the same ammount of RL 7 for these as I did for the Rem bullets? Thanks in advance.

OK guys, I need a little help. Does anyone know of an on line vendor who sells Rem. 45-70 GOVT. 405g jacketed bullets or same in another brand for reloading? My online supplier is out of them & I`ve been waiting over a month for them & they can`t give a time line when they will be in. Thanks in advance.

If you have a 6 shooter, do you only load 4 chambers? I might run into a herd of something, so I will need all 5 shots. LOL

Ok, I have an Interarms Mark X with the commersal 98 Mauser action on it in 270w. This rifle has a very fine metal & wood finish on it & it`s very accreate. The problem is, if I charge the mag with 1 round or up to 4 rounds I can recycle the bolt as fast as I can & each round will chamber & eject properly. But if I put in the 5th one the bolt will over ride it & the round will move forward from the bolt friction & start up the ramp, but the head will go down in the mag well & jam it up. I then have to release the mag door to get them out. Any thoughts on this problem, & if so is it a quick fix? Thanks in advance------------mauserman69

That`s the best way. Just do a lot of research on what you want to do & do it. That`s what I do & then you like I will feel that it`s done right & it usully is. If not, you learn by your mistakes. LOL

Hi, I have a rifle stock that I want to refinish. It has a varnish type finish on it. I used paint & varnish remover on it & it did nothing. I`m thinking it might be polyurathane. I`m told that nothing will touch it if it is. Is there anything out there that will without having to sand it off? I really don`t want to sand a lot because it`s checkered. Thanks in advance.

Hey, your lucky. My mechinest friend who also has his own shop, now lives 600mi from me since I moved. Any machine work I need has to wait until I get back to visit family (twice a year) & that`s when I get to see him. It realy sucks sometimes as some little jobs I do myself with hand tools & if I get stuck, I call him & he will walk me through.

I made the repair & used the tung oil on it. It blended in perfectly & it came out as before. Can`t tell the differanc.

Hi, like the heading says. I have a sporterized 1917 & it wasn`t done by bubba either. Would like your opinion weather the barrel is original or an after market sporter one? It `s 23 1/2" L from receiver joint to end. Only marks are on underside of it 14" down from receiver which is a circle with a triangle in it with a circle in the triangle & an oval with VP inside it. At the rec-bar joint there is a witness punch mark. On the right side of the receiver under the chamber there is a long oval with CNS inside it, what does that mean? Thanks in advance.

I got a Westie, when he was a pup , he would chew on paperclips, xmas tree orament hooks, silverware, coins, & most any other small metal objects. He never swollowed any of them. We use to call him metal dog. LOL
