  1. I built my 458 on a DP and any welding certainly didn't soften that thing, I still think they molded it out of ball bearings,
  2. As long as we have to play by the rules and they don't, we will never win this war. We can at best keep them busy in their own back yard.
  3. And that is only one class of drugs. Most of the drugs that are pushed these days have side affects that are worse than the problem they are prescribed to treat. (Remember George Carlin's skit?) But, then you can always take another drug to cover up that side affect. Then look at the coctail of drugs that your liver has to sort out if you are the typical person over 50 or 60. Your MD will really look at you funny if you tell them you take no meds.
  4. A friend brought over a Desert Eagle 50 AE a few years ago and asked me if I wanted to shoot it. Of course, being younger and stupider, I said yes. The torque of the bullet going down the barrel will twist your wrist. I found out after I shot it that he hadn't shot it yet and was kinda scared of it. Now, do you think I could sucker him into test firing my 458 Lott? I guess some people get smarter as they get older. I had to shoot it myself.
  5. I like the idea, but not the execution of the protest. The bullying took away the credibility of the protest. Simply putting up the bible verses and showing the solidarity would do more for the cause than the negativity of the bullying. The queens are trying to stuff their immorality down our throats, we need to be able to fight back.
  6. Just heard on the radio this morning that Minnesota has repealed the ban on silencers, joining 39 other states that allow them. Still need a permit and tax stamp, but now I can stop dreaming about it and look into this more seriously. Can they be used for multiple calibers, such as using a 30 cal can on a 22? I would like to be able to use it on more than one gun.
  7. They had more snow in Arkansas than we had here this winter.
  8. The school where my wife is assistant principal is looking for both LPN and RNS for school nurse. Nice area to live. Just a thought.
  9. Let them build it and make it perfectly clear that several of our warheads are aimed right at their a$$s. Let them make the decision whether or not to push the button.
  10. Some a-hole needs to find another job.
  11. I remembered another issue, the magazine release gets bumped and the magazine slips out enough to prevent a follow-up.
  12. My SCCY is fairly reliable. My only real complaint is that the safety doesn't have enough of a detent to stay where you put it. The trigger pull is fairly hefty as are most pistols. That is your real safety. It is small and inexpensive. That is what I wanted. It is not the quality of a Kimber or such, but for the price?
  13. I have one of the SCCY 9mms too. If you get one, get the model without a safety. Mine won't stay on safe anyway.
  14. I carry a 38 Derringer. I like the small size but the accuracy is not so good. My other carry is a XD40. It is bigger but has several more rounds. The Derringer fits in my pocket and I forget that it's there.

    Why Work?

You could be a Walmart greeter
  16. I have another friend with a 460 with a ported barrel. When he lights it off, it is about like dropping a hand grenade next to you. All the crap on the shelves of my shooting shed flew off and we had to wait for the dust to settle before we could see what he hit. He wouldn't shoot the 458 Lott either.
  17. A friend had one in 50AE. He brought it over and asked me if I wanted to shoot it. Of course being younger and stupider, I said yes. Found out after I shot it that he hadn't shot it yet and was a bit scared to try it. The rifling twist would torque your wrist when shooting it. Sweet pistol for those who have big hands. For what it's worth, I couldn't get him to test fire my 458 Lott and I had to do it myself. Some people do get smarter as they get older I guess.
  18. Like the one guy said, you can probably buy one complete for less than you will have into building one from pieces. Same can be said for building a Mauser or any other rifle. But, you can buy parts as you can find and afford them. Kinda like making payments. And you do learn a lot about how they work.
  19. For what it's worth, a Mauser trigger guard will fit on a 1903 Springfied with a little modification.
  20. Continuing education stuff. Most of it has been pretty good so far. 2 more days of sitting.
  21. A few hours early, but thanks. I get to sit in a seminar again this year for my birthday.
  22. Get a couple of the trigger and bolt springs if you can. They tend to break easily.
  23. Bill Cosby is black. Bill Clinton is white. Bill Cosby is somewhat a conservative (from some of the stuff I have read) Bill Clinton is a communist. It was OK for Clinton because his wife is a witch. (you can change a letter or so if you want) Bill Cosby's indiscresions make for better news ratings. Clinton's antics were simply a mistake made by the media's pet.
