  1. Sounds like the clinic was built and supplied by the lowest bidder. It is unfortunate that government stuff has to work that way.
  2. Something else to check is, if the bolt handle has been altered, is it closing completely? If not the firing pin will not bottom out.
  3. Check and make sure there isn't any crud in the bolt recess. That could prevent the firing pin from bottoming out and causing a light strike.
  4. I am sure that by now the same guys who doctored the birth certificate had time to clean up the records in question. Nothing will come of this while the userper is still on the throne. The hard drives will crash.
  5. As a general rule, if it smells OK and isn't "dusty", use it.
  6. He would have been a hoot to have as your crazy uncle who would tell you war stories.

FC I tried to send you a PM but it would not go through. Please send me a contact address when you get a chance.

He is in his second summer of NG training. He just graduated in May and headed there a week later. Not sure exactly what he is doing. I think he is supposed to start AIT after a refresher course of hell.

My nephew is there sweating too.
  10. I got a bag of corncob litter from Walmart a few years ago. The only downside is that some of the pieces are larger than the commercial stuff. Can be an issue in 224 or 243 cases. Works just fine other than that. Never found Walnut before. Will have to look. I save all our used dryer sheets and tear them in half and throw them in the pot. It really does well at collecting the dust. They look pretty nasty when you dump them out. I usually let mine run overnight. It is usually close to bedtime when I am monkeying with them and I don't want to get up in the middle of the night to turn it off. They are usually nice and clean by morning.
  11. Last time I tried to watch that movie, I got so pissed off at the British soldiers that I had to quit watching. That is an incredible movie. Unfortunately the sacrifices of those brave heroes is being nulified by the stroke of a pen.
  12. Tuesday is Revenge of the Sixth.
  13. MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU.
  14. If reselling ammo without a license were illegal, the hording would stop, supplies would stabilize and prices would normalize. Asw long as people will pay more than retail to resellers, this problem will continue.
  15. The kids and I got some good laughs out of those. I will have to look for the books.
  16. What ever happened to the $20 cracked stock Mausers we used to get? I used to get them 5 at a time and they were just crusty enough that you didn't feel bad making a sporter out of them. Got a few nice ones over the years that were too nice to tear apart, so I do have a few examples of those.
  17. Went to an auction last weekend and scored a 3 die set of Lachmiller swage dies in 38, 44, and 45 cal. Got a couple each partial boxes of 38 and 45 half jackets also. Also got most of a box of .30" lead wires about a foot long and a cutter. Got a chance to try them out. This is what the swage dies look like. This is the 45 die, but they all look the same except for the punch and the bore diameters. The punch fits on the appropriate shell holder This is the component and what they turn into. Left side is the 45 and the right is 38. Just cut the lead core to length, set in the half jacket and run in the swage. The half jacket goes in the top and the punch forms the nose. Whack the rod at the top to eject the finished bullet. Makes 150gr 38’s and 200gr 45’s. Lachmiller was bought out by RCBS a while ago. I found an ad for these dies from 1960. They only made these 3 sizes and cost $15 each. I got all three for not much more with the jackets. I made a couple full jacketed 45's using annealed 40 S&W brass and a 40 cast bullet, but I need to refine my technique some for consistancy.
  18. I don't know any of the people on the list of nominees, and have only heard of a few. Not enough information for me to bother with a vote. I think most of the folks on the list have my basic interests at heart.
  19. Thanks. Got to spend the day sitting in a seminar. Will have some sort of 50 over the hill party when I am home.
  20. Probably figured he was above the law, being a cop and all. Isn't he entitled to some freebes?
  21. There are a couple big ones around Duluth. One really big one in Two Harbors and one in Cloquet. There is another near Fargo in Dilworth. Always wanted to climb around on one, but they have them all chained off.
  22. I doubt it would do any real harm. Basically just a really inefficient shotgun projectile. Unless it obstructed the primer hole anyway.
  23. Hygiene is over rated. Won't do to wash off your protective crust. No self respecting germ will get close to you if you smell that bad.
  24. One possibility on the chambering is 8mm-06. 8mm Mauser (8x57) was hard to come by after WW2 so many of the bringbacks were rechambered to 8mm-06 so 3006 brass could be reformed for use.
