  6. hey tinkerfive, i like your idea. i might even give it a go if i have that cooling problem. our t/stat is set at 72 degs year round. in the summer i just turn the tank lites down so they dont heat up the water. just my .034cnts worth. later ,gotta go to work now. Dave

  8. how cold do you want the water? after it comes out of the fridge,i'd have a few coils surrounded air to reg. temp. hey man that is a coool idea as we have exotic fish at our house also. don't forget to regulate the temp cause you don't want to come home to find fish stickles. good luck! dave

    Vz-24

welcome sqib to the site. i too have vz24's one was made to a 243 bull, one is now a 300 win/8mm-300win. they are great actions.like everyone says, what do you want it to do? with this action, you have many options. you can go as far as your mind and your pocketbook will allow. so, pull up a chair kick back and enjoy the knowledge and friendship we have to offer. Dave.
  12. hey ron, dave here.i had been talking with hore trader about stuff like that on email. give him a jingle. if he don't , he might know someone that does. hope this helps you .later guy.!
  13. hey scott, i bought a corelite/barrel combo for my 243 form midway about 5 yrs ago. only work i had to do was for the bolt drop, came with recoil pad and Q.D. sling mounts. works realy good for the price. Dave
  14. lefteyedom, thanks for the feedback. i've already built the 8-300wim mag. i used a m98 yugo, modified my 300mag reamer, made the chamber ,then done the throating with a8-06 reamer. tests were all positive. 150gr sierraspitzer out at 3558 with no excess pressure. my 180 nos bt were at 3347 average. i can with this rifle, take down and rebarrel to my 300win mag if needed. work great for me . i took some pics of the rifles i've built, will post them when i get it figured out.dave
  15. hope i'm not off subject donmarkey, but can you use the same design floor plate drop like we are for the m98's? dave
  16. well buddy, you've answered one of my questions. appreciated the info. dave
  17. well folks, out here we donate to the poor working class of shmucks. namely me. working 2 jobs and the wife working, sending the daughter to grad school, no funs left to donate. as for them cell calls. when i get one at work i just set the phone on the hoist an' start taking off wheels with the impact gun. gets really loud. if we had funs to donate we would definitely donate to childrens hospitals, thanks for listening, dave
  18. odiesdad i might be interested in the 8x57 stuff and maybe the 30-30 hand loader. if you want pm me or email me. dave
  19. hey monte, like you i'm at a loss too unless it might be due to barrel contour plus the side safety issue. personally i've just been using 98 mil stocks. i bought a corlite/barrel combo few years ago and only inletted for the side safety. dave
  20. problem with that was all the granolas failed to roll into the ocean. they just stopped in the valley and ridges. unfortunately most of them are still in the way of a good sunset view. dave
  21. salormilan2 yeh, got that right on the money. living in california is as expensive as hawaii only ya don't get a ley. HAHA dave
  22. all i can say is way to go dude! any left overs ya don't need? just kidding Dave
  23. scott, try the % icon if you have one mine is in the lower right of my screen Dave polinidad, looks great hope mine looks that good when i'm finished.
  24. bennypapa, sellier and bellot has 8x57 loads with 196gr psp's my last batch of them they was pushing at 2550fps. not bad for factory loads. if you have a problem with recoil, i'ld go to maybe a 6.5x55 swede or 7x57 and load your own as light as ya want. just my opinion.Dave p.s.- if yer just paper shootin', 243 or maybe a 257 rob would be good. they're both good fer varmints and midsize deer!
  25. benny, i need to retract my last statement. the 7-08 does have as much a bullet selection as the 308. i just prefer the 308 cause here where i live the 308 factory loads are easier to come by. the 7-08 is just as good as the 308 but i have 8mm and 8-06 rifles so i don't need either one. enjoy which ever one you choose. if we here can be of help, don't hesitate to holler. dave
