cold shot

Hi all, SS here. Just wanted to thank all of you that was concerned and well wishers when my wife had her medical problem about a year and a 1/2 ago. Wll, now it's my turn to hang out in the hospital.I've done a really bad thing. I tore 4 tendon/muscles, the rotator cyff and the bicep in my right shoulder.There is also a cyst in the shoulder joint.. I'll be off for surgery on the 16th of this month. Unfortunately,I'll be off work for 6-9months.Thank god for workers comp. I'll actually be getting more income from my comp server than if I was workin. Iwill be like a cat on a hot tin roof in about 2 weeks. It will drive me nuts not to work..I just wanted to let you good folks know why I haven't been on too much lately.Been a stressfull past 4 months since the injury. Anyway just wanted to vent a little. I hope ya all don't mind. The wife says I needed a vacation but not this way.here I go with a book and all. Later, will keep you all informed of my progress....Dave

I agree with clemson, the m48 is too short of an actin to do a 8-06. I use vz24's,k.kales and m98's. just my yakin..Dave

we shoot round nose jacketed in our win 94's so the cast should be fine if lubed and crimped..just my .035 worth..Dave

Howdy, guess I'll throw my 3.5 cents worth too. The timneys are great but my budget said otherwise,so I bought a bold optima,w/side saftey. It is adjusted to a nice 2.5lb pull with no creeping. I have shot rifles with timney and the pull was nice and crisp..It's goin to be your choice, I would try to shoot as many rifles with different triggers as you to get the feel of each. My hunting rifle has a modified mil trigger.It works just fine. If you are building a target rifle then I would change out to an aftermarket one. This is just one opinion of many...Dave

I beleive it's our civic duty to support all who partake in this event..We should all write our president, ask that this event be made an annual holiday..However We should request this to be a 3 day week end. I know I'll be supporting this event, might even start drinking again too...Dave

thanks guys for thinkin of me. Yup, will have a great week end, Headin to Redding about 145 mi north of our place to the fil's house. Will bbq 3 -3.5 lb tri-tips, daughter made baked beans, 3 bean salad w/ cilantro and corn. Lots of sodas plus I'm playin the music on the keyboard, might even record it. Hello Brian, all my reamers have the size stamped on them..ie: the 8mm says 8x57 mauser. the 8-06 ditto. I Hope Z1R will chime in here,he's a gunsmith and could tell ya better than me. I don't have my 8x57 reamer at the moment to take a measurement for you....Dave PS. I looked in my book, the lenght of neck portion of the 8x57 is .319 " long..Maybe that's what he measured.

Hey Bob,like the dog,oh and the gun too. I like my vz24 as. Hi DT, Like your yugo. I have one that's rechambered to the 8-06. Throws them 185 rem pspcl's at 2850 w/med load. Haven't had the chance for bear yet, but the 8mm' are killer for Russian boar out here. enjoy your hunt. Wished I was goin.

Back again..Dave, I do have anextra 8x57 RCBS Full Size die with the ring...It had the centershaft,lock nuts, but it needs the expander ball.Irobbed it for another die..It's yours if ya want it....Dave
