  1. UP DATED> Went to the range today with the 7x57...Just fire forming some brass..What sweet loads they were.: 130gr Lee casts pushed by 20grs of RX7 and kicked off with a Fed 215 primer. I swear the recoil was less than a 22-250 with a 60gr round.Only had 50rds loaded, have brass coming so will load 200rds. Next time the wife better bring the camera....Even with the right shoulder in a little pain stretching the arm, it was a GOOD day....Dave
  2. Thanks Clemson for the help. I need to clean and inspect the bore first, then find a smithy out here or some one close so I would'nt have to send it to timbuktoo...Dave

  9. For ALL you "smoker wanna be's" the best stuff to inject into the exhaust just behind the cats is Dextron 111. Or use any TRANS fluid . The smoke is blinding white and they can't see for shitttes, not only that, it smells the same. Anyone ever stuff the spud in the tail pipe? Next time put a 3/4 " hole in the spud first. Relives the back pressure. When the tater is cooked it swellup then about 5 min later...Kapow..the"ll swear they blew something up....Just me yakkin...Dave
  10. I'm using a RCBS 2 at the present time. Was planning on getting a newer model or brand..I like the Q.D. design of the lock and load style. After counting up the QD rings I'd need, I think I'll stick with what I got. I did however get the Lee's 7mm/130gr cast mold w/handle. I was having problems with the bullets having lines in them. Do aluminum molds need to be seasoned..After about 250rds then most of the lines came out. I think for having nicer looking rds,the Lyman molds are a lot better. I'm just shooting paper at 50-100yds so the Lee mold will do. Today I just got through castin 600rd of the 7mm/130grs and 130rds of Lyman's 31141 mold of 30-30/173gr casts. Now to just sit back and prep them for loading. Thanks for all the input. Dave
