hey dude, wasn't any shows down here but did go to the range.

Ammo was 243 w/ 80gr rem pspcorelocks.Imr 4064 38grs, mv was 3175fps. Yolo sportman range at 100yds Almost for got the best part...picked up 140rds of once fired m14 -308 brass Too

Goin to the range again.Got kicked outta the house again...Gotta love it though... Takin the wifes 30-30 this time and her ammo. Also takin the 243 for a run too..I'm gonna do my best at tacklein that elusive 10 ring again...The wife is suppose to take pics.We'll see how they turn out... MR. Karl is right.You can,with even the right cell phone, access your computer when it's in standby mode.. I can attest to that cause I have a phone that can do it.My 2 girls phones can too. I can even send pics into " my Photos" in my computer..When I get home,the pics are there...Just my .035 cents worth....Dave

hi ya dcs, I have a 38 k.kale. it was 8x57 w/ 29" barrel. i just rechambered to 8mm-06. it'll get the job done on hogs an' deer etc. as for target shootin', i'd recommend a smaller caliber if yer plannin' on a lotta range time. if yer loadin med to heavy ,it can smack ya a lot. this is just my opinion, others may vary..enjoy what ever ya plan on..Dave

Well folks, back from the range. Good report too. the 8mm-300 win mag woke up the neighborhood when I unload a couple of 150-s at 3450fps. The marlin 30-30 shredded the 10,9 rings real good. The vz24 was doin' her job too till a couple o'turk rounds were stubborn to shoot off. Had to smack em' a couple times to bark. The target never got off a shot..My arsenal of 3 unloaded 175 rounds...Now I gotta reason to reload some more. A feller was unloadin' with a M1 Garand, lotta noise, then heard the CLINK!!, It's reload time. He left, and I got 69 rds of 06 brass for reloads. Gonna give em' to a buddy that has a Garand...All in all it was a very destressfull day. Gotta do alittle tlc to the guns now. Am lookin forward to my next match w/ that elusive 10 ring.......Dave

Well folks, gonna break in that new membership card to the YSA range on Sunday. Plannin' on takein' the Marlin 336W, VZ24,K.Kale Turk '38, and maybe the 8MM-300 Win mag for spin around the range. I'll see how many times the shoulder will hurt. Will post some target reports on Monday. That is if I don't tear up the targets too bad. Well,It's that time of year again to shower your special person with gifts. Well folks,my daughter gave me the ultimate Redneck Dad's gift. She gave me a years membership to our local gun range,YSA. She even included the first days fees. Her exact words were, "Now go shoot something"...Y'all know what that means...,It's STRESS relief time.. Hi ya walnut an' the rest of the crew. Like Brenden said, I've been real busy with a new storage shed. It's 10x20 by10ft tall. It's big enough to park my daughters nissan pu in. Been super busy at work too. Got a real good deal on some bullets and stuff. Gonna do some tradin with Brenden. The wife is fully recovered from the heart attack and stroke... She still gets short winded if she over works herself, so I gotta pull on the ranes sometimes.. We're all to take a 1st time vacation this winter in 6 years. Gonna stay in LA and go to Disneyland for a week. Gotta go ,just wanted to say hi to you all and let ya know I'm not Elvis, I'm still in the building Dave

Don't know if this helps, but I got lr and sr taps and dies. they are thread chasers. I got them from midway. have'nt check if they still sell them or not. they work just fine on my a&b barrels and mauser actions. Just my .035 worth. Dave

I built a 243 on a yugo m98. after barrel replacement,headspacing, the only thing els I done was change the follower and spring, oh an added a spacer block. I've had no problems with it. I use nos btbts, 55 gr. 3800-3950 mv is fast enough for tree rats, song dogs, even good for small deer if you load 100grainers. Just my .035 worth. Dave However depending on how fast he wants it to run would say what to use. I, myself would just rebarrel to a 25-06. that is a good runner also. Don't need super sonic in the mach 4 range to take out dogs, just accuracy fro m the rifle and the shooter. Again ,just my .035 worth, Dave!!!! Again!!
