  1. tony, by my way of thinking, those T-nuts are engaged from underneath? so you have a hole in the top? i am looking for a way to mount a variety of attachments to my bench, and your idea might be my solution. my other idea was to drill and tap a 1/2 steel plate for a bunch of different presses and vises. heath
  2. yup. all your fault!
  3. anyone seen the movie "idiocracy?" a "comedy" that is so right it hurts... literally.
  4. well gee, just look on top of the front ring for the nam-..... oh. i see the problem! =) looks too nicely finished to be chinese. as to the crystalized metal, if it was improperly heat treated, you'd get some crystals. (be that from the factory or a 3rd party heat treater)
  5. Hot damn! happy birthday! heath

    Mag Box Clearance

that's just to help when using stripper clips, isn't it? i don't think it affects feeding.
  7. happy birthday, man! have a good one! heath
  8. Ken, LL is saying they called back the workers. 80 laid off workers are now back at work cranking out the good stuff.
  9. i heard somewhere that federal is running 3 shifts 24/7 and if no other orders come in, would be caught up with backorders near the end of the year. the ammo guys aren't dumb. they're cranking out ammo as fast as they can, but any time it hits the shelves, it's being gobbled up by us. they're making cash right now on our paranoia, be it real or imagined. ammo is coming out, but with every store in the US that carries ammo having bare shelves, your local wal mart might be further down the list of who gets what, making it look like no ammo is coming out. the feds don't have a lock on ammo yet, fellas, but that fear is there, so we're creating an ammo 'shortage' by buying everything we see. good for the ammo companies, good for the guys that get the shipments as soon as they hit the shelves, bad for me, since i can't find any .40! heath
  10. congratulations! sounds like trouble! =)

  13. 14 legs. unless the girls have their backpacks ON the bus with them. maybe add 2 for the driver, if there is one...
  14. two dowels and some wood glue or epoxy and you'll be fine.
  15. anybody that's a member, did you validate the insurance coverage they offer? i got the letter wanting me to become an Endowment member. i am a life member at the moment. if i had $200, i'd sign up as endowment, but who has $200 to throw around? anyway, the letter says to validate the $11,000 insurance coverage that comes with the membership. i don't see anywhere that says this insurance will cost MORE than i've already paid. i know they'll never stop looking for $$, and rightly so, but i don't want to sign up for something i can't afford. heath
  16. anybody here friendly with any gun shop owners? i am having thoughts of changing careers from graphic designer working for someone else to entrepreneur. thinking about what i like, and what is marketable in most economic climates, i'm wondering if it's worth looking into opening a gun store. i have some idea of what is involved: FFL, insurance, security, building, power, marketing, inventory, bookkeeping, employees (if needed), etc. my dad opened his body shop the year i was born, 1978, and has weathered many a storm. so i have some help on the business insight side, though the businesses are in different fields. i was always told growing up it's hard to make a living working for someone else. i'm starting to see that now. my bosses ideas on how to run a business and mine differ greatly, and it pisses me off to see the areas he falters, and isn't interested in anyone's opinion. so i was wondering if any of you chaps know a local owner that might be willing to provide a little more insight on whether or not this is a viable business opportunity in the modern world. my neighbor is friends with a guy that owns a small shop near my house, but the guy was an ass the one and only time i went in his shop, ready to buy a holster. he showed no interest in helping me. i had internet prices ($22 w/shipping) and knew which holster i wanted and told him if he could get it for around $30, i'd buy from him. he said it wasn't worth his time. he actually told me that. i wasnt worth his time. so i haven't been back. i have a few other ideas running around in my head. urban archery shop, novelty bakery items, ..... what do you guys think? heath
  17. anybody, I REPEAT ANYBODY needing help dispatching some pigs, let me know. i want to shoot them, and i'd like to bring my dad along... and maybe my father-in-law. we dont have a ton of money, so if you just want to get rid of pigs, and dont mind a couple of respectable and honorable guys shooting them, let me know! we require nothing but access.
  18. happy birthday, bud! make it a good one!
