  4. tony's obviously turning into an "ice head" with all the time he's been in HI! and I heard karl voted for EVERY DEMOCRAT AVAILABLE!
  5. AZredneck quit his job to panhandle on the corner and Obama will take care of him!
  6. if you doubt this is CD, better click on the link, cause it's broadcast across the entire right wall of the action "Charles Daly"
  7. word from the firefighters is that in a fire, if a safe is hosed, everything inside rusts in seconds due to the steam... i was planning to sheetrock it to help.
  8. got this idea from archerytalk.com. $50 for the machine... yeehaw! who would think to look in a pop machine for guns?!
  9. AH! LOTUS! that's what i meant. (really). my wife's cousin built one similar in san diego. i think his finished?
  10. i like the idea of the .327, but i'm not a fan of the ruger revolvers. if smith or taurus adopted it, 6 rounds in the same size or smaller revolver than the .38, yeah... sounds good!
  11. i concur! happy easter, all!
  12. thanks all. it sucks to lose a friend, but i know it was the right thing to do. i was going to bury him, but when the vet came and did his deal, he just kinda scooped him up and put him in a sack. i asked what's up, and he said he would take him to be cremated. fine, i said, as i probably couldn't have dug a hole anyway with all the tears. been a week and a half now, so i called to find out where my dog was. "oh, he was cremated and disposed of." say huh? so for $150 i got jack s#it. maybe i should have known that before i let him take him away...
  13. a friend i worked with wanted a knife to give to her brother for his birthday. this is what i came up with. 440C, maple scales with cocobollo bolsters. mosaic pin and handmade sheath.
  14. i agree they shouldn't be excluding themselves from anything, but the healthcare thing has a pretty simple opt-out clause. if you dont want healthcare, you just sign the form that they "say" is simple and accessible. which really means they have no reason to write themselves out of it.
  15. i'm gay for mausers, does that count?

    8Mm Accuracy

a good recoil pad will remove that unwanted recoil!
  17. Looks like my ol' mutt Copper is fading pretty quickly. he stopped eating and drinking a couple days ago and anything he has tried to eat has come back up. he's close to 12 and been a good dog. i'm contemplating what to do with him when he inevitable happens in the next couple of hours or days. my family has a history of burying our dogs and planting a tree over them. i live in town, but have a spot on the side of the house he could stay undisturbed. not sure what pet cremation costs or where to have it done... any of you have experience with this? heath
  18. 7x57 and 6.5x55 both have fantastic reputations for killing beyond their capabilities and low recoil. the other bonus is either will feed like sh!t through a goose in your 98!
  19. wanted to brag a bit? more like being a d!ck and rubbing it in! great scores!
  20. best get to talking to the big guy upstairs! what a bunch of damned idiots!
  21. first off, welcome! and don't worry about your action being "TOO" long. lots of .308's have been built on full length mausers with fine results. the typical solution for this recipe is to use a magazine block or spacer. at the front or back (if it were me, i'd do the back) a block is placed or welded to reduce the length of the mag box. you will also need a shortened follower and mag spring. i bought a kit from numrich years ago but was not happy with it. i have the follower/spring if you want them. the block was chopped for another project. the follower is some type of plastic, which is probably why i didnt like it. like i said, you can have them if you want them. you'll have to pay attention to the feeding of the .308 rounds, as they have a different taper than the feed rails were designed for. it way work super slick as is, or it might require some work to get to feed reliably. screw on a new tube, headspace and hit the range!
