I've found 2 dead deer that had starved to death because of head shots that were off just a bit. If you take only heart shots and off an inch or even two. It is still a dead deer within a few yards with a blood trail to follow... If you're off an inch or two with a head shot you either miss of send a deer of to starve from a broken jaw or sepsis.
