AzRednek
Anybody know what this "Mauser" tool does?? https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/german-military-surplus-mauser-hand-vise-tool-like-new?a=2088408
ken98k
Mauser made tools after ww2. I have a couple of their micrometers. This thing may be to hold a micrometer.
AzRednek
Thx for the response. Didn't make the connection, forgetting Mauser was a tool maker. Should have known as I inherited a couple of Mauser micrometers I gave away to members of this board about 10+ years ago. I think Sportsman's Guide is being a bit deceptive advertising it with military surplus items. I just assumed it was used with Mauser rifles. Dr.Hess
They get a lot of military surplus stuff that's not what you would consider the classic surplus. I don't doubt that they bought it from some government with their other items. We met a couple at Sturgis from Minnesota. They lived a couple miles from the Sportsman's Guide warehouse/HQ. Apparently shopping there is an experience. They just put pallets of stuff out for you to look at/buy. Probably like you shopping at JG. Something the rest of us only dream about. Could be useful for final hand-fitting of smaller rifle parts.
