tinkerfive
Folks Someone at work is organizing presents for soldiers. I'm fishing for ideas. I've heard about grooming/hygiene items. I was thinking more about creature comforts or entertainment. Do they have access to DVD players for their down time that you could send DVD's over? Do they need sports equipment, baseballs & bats or footballs, frizbys? Can you send food items like jerky or candy?
FC
Yes, you can send food items. It's not hot right now, so you can send items that tend to melt, like chocolate. Goggles for dust storms are good. DVD's are good. Jerky is popular. Thing is, most have access to good food and a decent PX, so it's not as bad as it used to be. Calling cards should be a decent choice. M-16 cleaning kit.
z1r
Get a sniper one of these stocks. They love em. Adopt-A-Sniper just sent my friend this one. Here is a List of Suggested Items.
z1r
Another idea is to visit the DOD web site. You can buy gift certificates for troops that they can use at the base PX’s in Iraq. Other great items are bore snakes...LED key chain flashlights with blue filter...phone cards, beef jerky, Gold Bond medicated foot and body powder, mosquito candles. Dr.Hess
That Adoptasniper site looks pretty interesting. How about we have a MFRC adoption? We can get on their links page which will be advertising for our site and do some good. I'd kick in a few bucks for it.
