BEJ
I have a Twede. The stock is the original, oil soaked, Turk stock. Does anyone make a synthetic stock that would reasonably fit this action/barrel (29" Swede military) without any inletting or bedding ?? Horsefly
Any 98 large-ring stock will fit your gun,but I've never ever installed a stock that didn't require some inletting, even when they claim to be drop in.If you get one that does just drop in,chances are you'll want to bed the action. My advise would be to get the stock of your choice, and if it needs bedding or inletting, let the cats here at this board walk you through it.I have a Choate and a Corelite, and once had a Ramline which sucked so bad,the Corelite to it's place.I have an old Bell&Carlson that I didn't put on,and it doesn't impress me any more that the other 2.My next will be the Houge.Pick on up and feel the difference between it and regular synthetic, and you'll probably be sold too.Good luck BEJ with your choice, and let us know how it turned out.Jerry
BEJ
Jerry - Appreciate your reply. I was thinking of a synthetic with the aluminum bedding block installed. I assumed this would be more of a "drop in" than a standard stock.
